I am 39, 40 in 15 days time  , OH is 43 and we have DD1 20 (21 in August) and DD2 11 in July.
Very regular lurker and wannabe OStyler but full time work (out of the house 7.30 - 6.30pm) makes this a tad difficult. Don't regularly post as don't think I have much to offer but I am a sponge soaking up all the tips on OS. I do now bake on a weekly basis which is a million miles from where I used to be and I cut my dishwasher tablets in half!
Wish I had as much imagination as some of you or the energy/inclination to be truely OS but every little bits helps!!

I'm 26 (nearly 27 ) and OH is 31. No children yet but fingers crossed it will be soon. We have a dog and 3 cats. As OH has been out of work I have to money save OS as much as poss as my wages/tax credits are stretched and OH isn't entitled to benefits as I work full time :mad:Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0

I was just wondering the ages of the people who try to live the OS way. I'm 29 but most of my friends think I'm nuts to do the things I do, they are so used to spending and using credit cards etc they can't imagine just trying not to spend:rolleyes: So I was wondering if most of the people on here are older than me and maybe have a different attitude to money etc. What are your view on this OSers?0

Just looked at your poll and was staggered to see that over 60% of Old Stylers were in their 20s. Then I realised only 3 people had voted:rotfl:
I'm nearly 43 and I'm thrilled that more and more younger people are enjoying the old style way of life:j0 -
Looks like I'm one of the 'granny-grunts' on the board then! I'm 57 and was brought up to be OS by my nan in the 50's. I don't think it was just a post-war thing with her - pretty certain she had been like that all her life. Even after I went to live with my mum and dad, life was still quite OS and make-do-and-mend. I've continued it ever since - though, regarding food shopping, I had slipped from it quite a bit - until I found this site/forum about 18mths ago. Things have definitely improved since then - think I would have been really worried financially by now, if I hadn't changed my ways.0

I'm like you Olliebeak,I'm coming up to 54.Like you I was brought up by my gran and OS is normal to me.My daughters all in their 30s think I'm an old skinflint and I realy feel shocked at the amount of money they waste. My efforts to make them see the light seems to be in vain I suppose. So it has'nt rubbed off on them.0
