This is just about to launch - there's a massive £215,000 in the kitty (a bit more than expected as it's taken longer to get the charity off the ground)

About the charity

The MSECharity aims to help fight financial and consumer illiteracy and is dedicated to educating and informing people about how to help themselves on consumer and debt issues.

The charity website is now up and running, please feedback

1. Is it clear? This is a basic website not done by the MSE team.. the aim is to keep the charity budget low so more money can be distributed
2. Did the navigation work for you
3. Would you like to test applying for us? IMPORTANT If you do PLEASE ensure your last name is TEST (ie put TEST instead of your real last name); but do fill in all the boxes. However if you would like to apply properly the charity is running so you can do that too.
4. Donations to the charity are always welcome so if any of you fancy trying that too ;)

The new website is

MSE Charity Fund

Feedback and thoughts welcome

THanks in advance for all help

Martin :)

First impression - nice big font - easy to read. Will edit later to give more detailed feedback :)

Edit: Nice and easy to understand and writte in plain English, although I don't know who proof-read it as I spotted a few grammatical errors (sorry :o)

I didn't do a test application, but I like the way it is laid out and is easily navigable.

Is something like this what you are willing to fund?

It looks excellent Martin. One small typo spotted..."Don;t worry" but I'm sure it hasn't been proof-checked yet.

How are you going to publicise it?
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

    Hiya
Yes, I like the font, nice and easy to read. The only thing i'd say is when I click on 'how to apply' and then on the link to 'download an individual application form', the text from that page overlaps the boxes of text on the left hand side. This makes it a bit difficult to read.

Hmm I do wonder if it should look a little more similar to this site, maybe with a picture of Martin on the homepage so people don't think it's a fake.

Well done all involved, great work & good luck

Looks good and is a great idea. Its nice and simple without too many unnecessary icons/links etc. The font is a good size and it is easy to navigate.

The individual application form doesn't fit on the page properly making it awkward to read.

There were few typos/spelling/grammatical errors which need changing.(Expanse in the FAQ, don;t worry)

Well done. At first glance the site looks easy to read and navigate but agree perhaps a picture of Martin in the banner on homepage would be helpful.

I haven't read all of it yet, but maybe this bit needs amending as it does not read correctly:

All this cash - less some small administration costs, which the Trusteesand aren't expected to exceed 10% of income - will go directly to the beneficiaries.

Yes it's clear, easy to read and I had no navigational problems.

Might help to have a couple of specific examples on the home page as to the type of 'courses' or projects that it will fund.

Along the lines of what Gemzie said, maybe introduce some colour to brighten it up a bit, although understand you don't want it looking too jolly!

Just a quick comment - in Firefox on the Mac, the main body of text is being hidden by the boxes on the left and any graphic on the right. Looks fine in Safari though!
