Please ban the word Stoozing from MSE.com

Its bad enough having to hear the word on another site.  Can we not think of something better than the word stoozing?  It sounds so horrible. I can't believe how prevelant the word has become on this site in the last week or so.

  • If we ban the word stoozing, then how would everybody refer to stoozing? They wouldn't be able to say that they had stoozed some cash.

I know exactly what people are talking about when they refer to stoozing whereas if we call it, say, tarting, then is that moving debt around to minimise interest payments or burying cash in high interest savings accounts/flexi mortgage accounts for profit??

I don't mind the word personally. Long live stoozing.

Yeah, but its only recently on this site that the word has started to be mentioned every five minutes!  We held out for so long!    :)
  • All the same, it only seems to be people 'in the know' that have heard of it, and given that this is the Credit Cards thread, I would certainly expect to see it mentioned here several times.

It's also a pretty frequent word on the fool.

However - has anybody ever tried talking to somebody (friend, family) about 'stoozing' - nobody's heard of it outside of our small community...??

sorry for being really, really pedantic, but if you type in mse.com in your web browser you come to Mitchell Software Engineering.

    apologies.

  • And if you put stoozing into Google, you get, amongst others

    https://www.stoozing.com

    A "Market Comment" from Yahoo

And a sponsored link to American Express, described as the Stoozer's Credit Card :o

Yep, I hate that word too. Didn't we have a poll about it recently? Just found it here - super tarting won, which I think is a much better name.

And I agree, the word's always been around here, but it's become a million times more popular in the last week or so. It puts me off coming in here. (Yes, I'm sad)

I know the OP probably wasn't aiming this at me but as our threads were on top of one another it looked a bit odd, therefore I have amended my title removing the 'S' word ;)

Whether you like the word or not, there really isn't anything you can do about it. It's what it's called. And people outside of our community have heard about it now. We can't stop people using the word any more than we can stop people using any other word.

There is nothing wrong with the word 'Stoozing'.

If you don't like it - Then don't use it...
