It's a Premier Direct current account. I've just checked on the main part of this website and it is still recommended as the best account for people who are permanently overdrawn - see http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts

Good luck - I hope you get it!

Thank you soooo very much!!! I really hope I do too... It would be the answer to a heck of a lot of problems!!!

Doesn't look like there's much else you can do with these accounts unless that A&L thing comes off.

Have you appraised your SOA recently?
Reclaimed CC charges, bank charges, checked your council tax banding, been missold an endowment?

I have done it all matey... It was reclaiming the PPI on our loan that we was missold that paid off the credit cards.

I do have an old bank account which I can't get access too because I lost my card and I "failed" the security questions but I am 99% sure I could have reclaimed some charges

Another thought, have you got anything you could sell, either on ebay or at a carboot sale? Outgrown baby clothes and equipment? Maternity stuff?

I don't get this....if you went into the bank with documentation for the account like statements, plus utility bills for example...and a passport and/or driving licence, plus birth certificate are they saying that these don't trump a set of security questions....?

I wouldn't mention why you want to access the account, mind...;)

How about looking at becoming a childminder yourself? Or looking after someone elses child in there home that would allow you to take you baby with you.

pnq I don't see any reason why you can't try writing to your creditors regarding reduced payments/freezing interest. I think if you're honest with the figures they'd see you are struggling. In theory people could I suppose make stuff up but I think they have to see that what you're paying is reasonable, i.e. if you put in something like £200 for going out every month, £50 for Sky etc they'd have something to say but it looks like the spending you have is all necessary stuff

I contacted Payplan and they have sent me a template letter to send to my creditors. If you PM me I could send it over to you if that'd help.

Childminding sounds like a fab idea for bringing in extra cash

I have replied to your PM :)

I'm doing same as you with selling on ebay and amazon, done ok so far actually, managed to sell a fair few bits even including some old clothes I was going to give to the charity shops

Are any of your creditors the people that you have main bank account with?

Oh good that's ok then think it's easier if creditors aren't who you have account with
