  • so who would I have to credit check if i wasnt lending them money? (illegal without a consumer credit licence).....no-one really, its cobblers int it, the establishment (aka banks/finance houses) simply MUST have their pound of flesh, which one one level is fine, but what about the barstewards who shat on me for £13,000 and liquidated a ltd company? (and had done it before), oh no, sorry, they had protection under company law didnt they....

Well you had the choice to be have a limited liability company too which may have helped you. No disrespect, but you could have done your homework on the people who diddled you, it may have helped, you said they were old hands at the game.

Just recently I had a company go pop on me - not nice 9K gone but that's why limited co's are in existance.

And like it or not people still have the right to know about your financial standing, I'd credit check you if I was buying a car from you - yes, you heard it right, I'd stick your name in the gazette, for my protection.

If I know your address in ten minutes I can get your name, whether you have a mortgage, how much you paid for the house, if you are a director of a company, and if you are bankrupt.

1 ltd company going bust is bad luck, 2 is very bad luck, these jokers had more bad luck than anyone can imagine, if thats what it was.....and i doubt it very much, finally the IS are investigating the directors, too late for me. The Ltd company was newly formed, so can you tell me how i would credit check them please?

Well, I'd make sure that the car you were selling was yours to sell - it may belong to the OR.:rotfl:

Well, I wouldn't deal with anyone who had been broke - very simple 5 minutes on line to do a directors check, and for 13K it would have been worthwhile wouldn't it? But then you know this as you have all the answers...

If you had operated under the protection of a LTD Co then would you have taken the hit personally?

It's not a big deal for me - I had trouble and learned by it, I expect that many of those having trouble now will emerge stronger from the experience but I suspect that you won't though.
