My son enjoys www.starfall.com. Putting features on the Snowman and the pumpkin were really helpful in teaching him mouse control.

My little girl of nearly 4 loves the cbeebies site. She has been using the mouse for ages now and through practice has really good mouse control. She whizzes round the site trying new games etc. Many are over her head but she enjoys trying different things. We're amazed how quickly she has picked up all this, took me ages as an adult to get used to a mouse!

There's a new Dora The Explorer Comic out that has a CD Rom included in each issue. Brought it for my little boy - 3 1/2 too, and he loves it! Its ideal to get them to use a mouse and keyboard. Its £2.99 for the first issue.

Subsequent issues are pricey (4.99 every fortnight) but we figure we're just going to buy him a couple of issues as theres plenty to keep him occupied on there - once he's mastered this he'll be better at using the websites mentioned on here.

These mice are lovely- fancy one for myself!

One of the difficulties that young children have is which side of the mouse to click on. For ease of use the best product on that page is : Colour coded Mini mouse Part No: 14P-358 £12.95

If you want to get a character one, you might be best to put an obvious sticker, such as a large gold star on the left click button.

Navigating the mouse is about hand/ eye co-ordination. You can improve this by playing ball games with your child.

As an aside - I had a search for these.... found them for less (£12.95) at https://www.johnlewis.com - and was in the John Lewis Edinburgh store today and they were reduced to clear £6.95.... so I bought one for my son & one for my nephew (one Ladybird, one Benjie Bee) (started the Christmas shopping already lol :D)

when i was in reception, PCs were first becoming normal everyday household items, and to this day i can remember designing a nativity scene christmas card in Paint.

im sure my mum still has it somewhere too :D

perhaps thats another programme you can try using, that wont cost you a penny, as its already on the pc?
