Ok, so £30 every 5 years for 60 years = £360. Buy the Sabatier - they're more economical in the long run!If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Sometimes it does pay to flash the cash....I bought a expensive bread knife recently and you do notice the difference.
But I guess you should see how you go first.;):heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -

These are the knives I have. They are great.
As for the wooden chopping board, I use it with meat on one side, bread and veg on the other side. Just don't forget which side is which and remember to disinfect and you need to oil the wooden board so they don't crack after washing.
and damn you about the viners website....now I'm tempted to buy more things...0 -
Those are great knives too:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0

I use one paring knife and one serrated edge knife.
Total cost £1.65
I'd be dangerous with anything larger.
I did buy a £10 knife when I bought my breadmaker the other month. Never used a breadknife before... and to date haven't made one loaf that could be cut.0
