Another mobile with 12m line rent cashback

I read it somewhere on this board about costing an extra month. Then when I rang Orange at month 11 and asked for PAC code etc ready to move at month 12 the kind operator told me to convert the chip to PAYG as it would save me an extra month line rental.

I'm not sure what happens if PAC expires. The alternative is to give notice at 11 months, and then ring a couple of weeks later for PAC code. I've done both in the past and never had a problem, or been charged an extra month's rent.Waddle you do eh?0

If your PAC expires you carry on with the tariff you have and need to request a new PAC code again when you are thinking of swopping. HTH0

i cant find the t630 deal...Its better to close your mouth and appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt...:p0

Because as originally posted..... "the Sony Eric T630 on the same deal (now finished)"
I think I saw a k300i on 12 months free if that is any interest?

We ported from BT Mobile to 02 , , asked for PAC code about 11m &1 wk in to contract,
moved 2 weeks later, was told we would have to pay until end of 12m - ie lost 1 wk, but as new contract hopefully will be free, not greatly concerned ( assuming final BT bill is correct - not likely in my experience)
I don't need the12th BT bill for cashback on old contract ( paid up already) , although suppose would have waited a little longer (just in case)if needed it to prove vstayed on for 12mAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
I assume they will send you the 12th bill anyway, especially as you have paid for it

I think 11 months exactly is when you should request your PAC as it is valid for 30 days.
Most contracts require one months notice, so if you ask for your PAC after 11 months and 1 week, you may have to pay for 12 months and 1 week on your cancelled contract.
You don't need to give your PAC to the new provider at the same time as you request it. I plan to give my PAC to the new provider 2 weeks from the end of the contract to minimize my costs.
I just hope the contract I want is still available then

I'm currently in my 11th month, I was going to send in my cancellation notice but I'm now going to wait a week or so before my contract is supposed to expire and get a PAC code which i'll then use to transfer my number onto a new tariff on the day when my 12 month is up.
This should be ok shouldn't it? As I should still recieve my 12th bill which I will need to send in for my cashback...0 -
