I saw a recipe recently for a frozen peach sorbet that was made by blending up frozen peaches with condensed milk. I bet you could do the same with most soft summer fruits.0

Had lunch withmy brother today in Japanese restaurant in Dublin and he suggested that I try a "Vietnamese" coffee.....comes in a glass, white at bottom, coffee on top....really sweet buy delish, we asked how it was made and were told condensed milk first and then coffee on top....sure that soy c milk would work just as well.

I've used it to make chocolate vegan fudge. Very yummy and not a trace of beany taste0

We use it to make the filling for a jelly slice, and in a biscuit recipe that makes heaps of biscuits. For the biscuits I usually substitute with a homemade condensed milk recipe I have. My mother loves to tell me of the time she went to a friends house as a child and had condensed milk on bread!0

Indeed a 'conny-onny sandwich' was a treat to us sweet starved kids from the days of rationing. My late Mum's sister used to send us tins of it from the U.S.in the late 1940's early 50s and the taste was just out of this world.I must admit I've not tasted it for over 60 years and I wonder how it would taste now:):) probably not very good for your waistline I suspect but it would bring back many memories of being a tiny skinny child who could eat almost anything and not put an ounce on .
My how times have changed since then:):)

When my children were young and I spent half my life baking (well it felt like it at the time!) I used to make some Bounty Bar lookalikes - the dessicated coconut was combined with the condensed milk, shaped into fat sausage shapes, and dipped in melted chocolate. I also made Twix lookalikes - a sort of millionaire's shortbread cut into fingers and dipped in chocolate. Yum yum, but in those days I didn't have a weight problem!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
