 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Have a look for a recipe on google. I've bought the condensed milk, but not got around to making the macaroons yet!

I think you just need the condensed milk and some coconut, perhaps vanilla essence. Mix together and cook in the oven and it makes macaroons. Great for a quick snack.

It was my post thriftlady linked to and I can vouch for the lemon cheesecake and the caramel fingers. Both are now regulars in our house!

I don't bother with the golden syrup - add a little extra sugar (I don't measure mine but would guess at another ounce).

Make toffee? I saw this on daily cooks yesterday. Put it in a pot of water, gently boil for one hour watch that it doesn't go dry. Let it go cold in the pan, then open the tin and eat!

No no no!!!! Make Scottish tablet....it is to DIE FOR...you will thank me for this for the rest of your life :)

    2 lb caster sugar
    7 1/2 fl oz milk
    2 oz butter
I small can condensed milk...funnily enough
    half a teaspoon vanilla essence

Put the sugar, butter and milk in a large pan over a low heat and stir until sugar is completely dissolved.

Bring to the boil, and add that innocent little can of condensed milk that has been languishing in your store cupboard for years

Boil carefully (ie stirring constantly so it does not burn)for exactly fifteen minutes

    Remove from heat, add vanilla

Immediately beat with electric whisk for three minutes (still in pan)

Pour into a shallow based tin

Put in the fridge...wait half an hour till it sets completely, then break apart and EAT...OMG...heaven.

Whenever I make this for the school PTA :) it is the first thing to sell out AND NO ONE KNOWS I MADE IT :)
But they go on for weeks like I am Mrs Thornton or something. :)

It is like brittle, crumbly fudge. Has to be experienced to be believed.
