Boiling the can for about 4 hrs, making sure it's always covered with water, makes lovely caramel. You add that to a shortcrust pastry base or curshed biscuit base and make caramel slices. Add some chocolate sprinkles on top. Oh yummy, shame I'm on a diet!

Another one is to add the contents of the tin to 3/4 lb of coconut, few drops vanilla essence, and a pinch of salt. Drop a teaspoon of the mixture on greaseproof paper and cook for 15 mins in the oven.... Condensed milk kisses.

Open the tin, take a spoon and dip it into the sweetened milk. Lift the spoon to the mouth and put the laden spoon into the mouth. Close the eyes and mmmm ... :p

My grandmother used to make coconut pyramids. Desiccated coconut mixed into the condensed milk, then she shaped it using an egg cup. I can't be bothered, I would just do them free form. You need to use rice paper... if you have it...or if you don't, then parchment or magic sheet would be OK, they didn't have those when I was little and I was rather fascinated by rice paper!

You can mix it with thick cream and some lemon juice and use this as a topping over crushed digestives. Can't remember the quantities but it's gorgeous, must ask my sister who used to make it. We called it Pooh's summer pie for some reason.
