Weekly Flylady Thread 12th May 2008

Right, as to flying, I've done minimal in the living room. In exactly two weeks time today, there are going to be some blokes knocking 7 bells out of my windows and chucking away brickwork and installing french doors and a new side window. The whole place will be a mess then so there's little point in me doing too much now - particularly as I'm away on holiday for one those weeks.
Pigpen - do I get a dog biscuit for being pragmatic and planning ahead?I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

DS1, DS2 and DD would like to inform you that child labour was employed in the achievement of the following, and readers of a sensitive nature should read no further.

Don't worry, I've given them the number for social services and NSPCC, and assured them that they would get a sympathetic hearing...;)
I enjoyed today's supply work, and am back again tomorrow, and Friday I hope, although the regular French teacher has now returned, so I may not be needed - there are oral exams on though, so fingers crossed.
DD is now officially on study leave. There was no damage at her school, although they did dress up as pirates, and have a water fight outside at lunch time. They left to go to the beach for the afternoon. The Head was driving out at the same time, stopped and asked them if they were going home, for revision of course, to which they solemnly agreed. Sensible man.
RE tomorrow afternoon, no revision done for that I fear...
pigpen - congratulations to your sister, wonderful news!
welcome to all the newbies - don't try and carry stuff over, the rooms will all come around again.
AnW's mum - how's it going?
Hugs all round, see you tomorrow!

Michelle & dusty- thanks for the revision advice. DS's school do pay for samlearning. DS has now promised me that he will do more revision:rolleyes:
Pigpen- thats great news about your sister:j.
well i have not had a very good day flying wise and i fell guilty after asking pigpen to make today the day for doing the lounge/living room, sorry pigpen. but i have and still am doing my college work. i have had a couple of good ebay sales today:T, the 2 items that sold cost me nothing in the first place, one was a replacment from lakeland and the other a bed frame that next door were binning and it had nothing wrong with it, so i asked them if i could have it and they said yes:rolleyes: so i now have almost enough money to pay my elec bill:j. i also sold a cricket bat for my ex-OH on ebay the other week and he said i can keep the cash:D so even though it's not been a very productive flylady day for me, i'm happy and feeling more up beat with life.
big hugs for everyone. xx

Feeling tired but happy after a productive day here Chez michelle. I have just hung up more wet washing on the airers as we ran out of pegs and room to get it all outside - no point leaving it till tomorrow as it is supposed to be dull and we will be going out anyway.

Doe, You're a :T STAR :T - if you could check your daughter's and let me know tonight, that would be doubly wonderful.
It's all to do with some changes to some software that I have to test. There's a requirement about changing the validation on a particular field so it accepts N.I. driving licence numbers. I talked to the developer about it today - asking what the rules are. He said he'd taken the rules from the UK DVLA website (which give the 16 char/digits stuff). He was quite assertive in the way he said "and of course, as NI is part of the UK, it will the same".
I thought I'd double check and found the reference on the DVLNI site to 8 digits for the old licence. If your daughter's number is of a similar construction to yours, then I can make sure he does the proper thing which is verify exactly what that requirement meansrather than guess.
Perhaps you could also clarify something else for me - reading the DVLNI site, it implies your licences need regular renewal. In the UK, you get your licence and you keep it until you're 75 unless you get points or move addresses (hence I've still got the old green paper one rather than the new fangled photo ID one...). If they do need renewal, how often is that?
our licences last for 10 years , I was surprises when a friend in england told me heres was until she was 75. I am not sure if this will change in future but will have a look at that on daughters as well when she gets back.
glad I was able to help.TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0
