i cannot believe this, my husband has an account with littlewoods catalogue, he has paid regularly every month and never had late payment,
he paid the beginning of this month, payment date due 5th may and checked online account and now they want another payment on 31st, he emailed them and got a reply that they have changed the terms and conditions of all accounts ,so he is in a position that he cannot make the payments on time and of course will receive late payment charges
has anyone else had this he is sooooo mad:mad:

hi hun, yeah mine was the same last month, unfortunately its how they do it now and its ridiculous. I don't get how they think you have the money for 2 payments in one month. Mine was £80 as well so having to find an extra £80 is not good! Did you not get a leaflet a while ago with one of your statements? I got one saying it was changing but didn't think it would be this bad!!!BABY SOPHIE BORN 14/08/08Cross Stitch Cafe member No:37

thanks so much for the reply, no he hasnt received anything to tell him, so now he is even madder , he is now saying if they want to move the goalposts like this they will get nothing , we cannot afford 2 payments in one month because we only get our money every 4 weeks anyway, if they had kept the payments as they were they would have got their money as usual, but now he will not pay late payment fees for no fault of his own, he will let them take him to court if they want to .0 -
I agree its ridiculous, we get paid monthly and do our budget accordingly. We just don't have the spare cash for 2 payments in the same month, I seriously don't get how they think peole will have! I definately got a eaflet with a statement a few months ago so if he didn't get one he should complain! Surely they can see people are going to struggle this way anyway....not that they care of courseBABY SOPHIE BORN 14/08/08Cross Stitch Cafe member No:37

I got stung by this last month. I made a payment, then checked my account again and the next payment was due in like 20 days. I spoke to somebody at Littlewoods but unfortunately nothing they could do. Now I'm having to work out how to make my payment on time. very frustrating.0

yes it's the same for us now, my hubby hasnt got a clue how he can pay the extra payment, he has now written letters to them complaining (not that it will do any good ) and he is going to send a cca request because he has had enough, not once has he ever been late or missed a payment in 7 years and thats how they treat you, it is so very wrong0 -
i've had this problem with littlewoods for years. the bills are produced every 4 weeks not every month so some months it works out at 2 payments. when i called up to query it they couldn't understand why i was saying i couldnt afford to make 2 payments in one monthThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

this is the reply he got by email ,
Dear Mr ********
From 26 April 2008, the payment due date has been reduced by two days (from 23 to 21 days) on all customer statements.
We constantly review our terms & conditions in line with other financial markets and are making this change to reflect current trading conditions. You still have 21 days to ensure that your payment is received by us.
A ‘notice of variation’ letter was sent to all affected customers informing them of the change.
Late payments will incur a £12 administration fee.”
Kind Regards
Julie Laws
he never received any letter and now they have changed the dates , the payment they want will be late and he will receive a £12 penalty charge, if they hadnt have changed the dates they would have been paid as usual0 -

I hate to see people who are trying to make regular payments get "ripped off" by companies that do such sly tricks as Littlewoods by increasing interest rates and bringing forward payment dates.
Though little can be done about this have any of you thought about joining a Credit Union? After paying in regular payments one is eligible for a low interest loan. Goods can then be purchased cheaply without the exorbitant interest charges.
Credit Unions are set up to help people who have difficulty in accessing cheap finance but have the ability to make regular payments.
Have a look on this link and perhaps there may be one set up near you.
