I am currently using 18185 both from my home landline and from my mobile. I know that I can access my 18185 account online to obtain details about the length and cost of my calls made through 18185 but is it also possible to get this information by telephone e.g. using my mobile.

For non-BT customers, 18185 has a 0808 (freephone) number. So Primus won't charge you.
But no escaping from the dreaded connection charges that the likes of 18185.co.uk make!

I am with a Voip service provider and they don't make any connection charges and calls to landlines numbers in UK and many other countries are free. Yup! all these calls are 100% free :)

I can also call from an ordinary landline phone or a mobile with the local access number that they give you. No PC required, unlike some people on this thread persume.

I have been with 18866 for a few years. Recently had a BT phone bill which was £13 higher than normal and as I dont use the BT line it was easier to recognise. I found there were some charges for 73 phone calls to 01608 886601, 602, and 608. BT tell me this must be to do with the 18866 although I would like to hope not. Each call works out to be 13p or 19p each depending on the times called. This number does not exist if you call it! Does anyone else notice this on their BT bill? Mine goes back for 2 years but are for smaller amounts! I've stopped using 18866 now and will monitor the bills from now. Not happy!
Have a look at PhonepayPlus website.
    http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/For-The-Public.aspx

PhonepayPlus is the organisation that regulates phone-paid services in the UK.

They have a 'number checker' facility for numbers on your bill you don't recognise.
    They also take up complaints.

    Good Luck!

If you have inclusive evening and weekend calls why do you need to use 18185.

Primus still allow you to use 18185 indirect access as far as i am aware so your just pay whatever the going rate is with 18185 plus there small connection charge. EG a call to a 01/02/03 UK Number would cost just 5p connection nothing for call.

18185 evening rate on some numbers eg 0845/0870 is 6pm to 6am but its the same cost as the day rate.

But PhonePayPlus do not regulate indirect landline short code access numbers like 18866/1899/18185. ;)

When they talk about phone-paid services, these are the premium rate goods and services that you can buy by charging the cost to your phone bill and pre-pay account

Yes, absolutely; assuming that abbas786 want to call UK numbers only and not abroad.

Thanks for the info, its just that my family uses the built in phone book and don't dial the number itself so I was going to change the numbers in there but that way any call they make will be billed by 18185 and the evening and weekend offer wont be taken into account.

I have told my family to dial 18185 during the mornings but I know what they are like.

I need that Orchid box or something of the sort but its not available anymore.
