Me thinks it is likely there are less MSers than you think ... some of them may be identical triplets or quads ... If you know what I mean ...

Tescos in Stockport, are being really strict on coupons, i'm gutted and thinking about changing back to asda, its also bloody embarrassing when the assistant starts kicking up a fuss...0

Spoke to store manager in my local Tesco extra re policy as every time that I went in there it changed.
He took a day and a half to get back to me and he said that it was done to each store and the store manager had discretion.
He is not now taking any coupons unless you buy the product.
Phoned HO this morning to complain and they also stipulated that the policy is now that they do not take the coupon unless you buy the product but some store managers use their discretion.
I said that this was unfair and that a large company such as Tesco's should have a universal policy in every store and he said that store managers cannot be forced to take coupons if they choose not too.
Was feeling rather dejected but went into my small metro where redeeming coupons without buying the product has never been an issue and was told that they are only taking 5% of the total of your shop.
The SA said that a bulletin had come down this week due to so many people now using coupons.
HO is going to send me the up to date policy, will put it on the site once received.:eek:0 -
Is it the Extra or the Metro that you work at, breadline betty? I know you previously said you work for Tesco, seems odd your local stores are doing this (unless your local is also Clowne?).
In my area it's business as usual with the MOC policy we know and love, and if they ever change that I will no longer have the incentive to shop at Tesco. Clubcard points are good (very good but not enough on their own to keep me as a very regular customer as I am now).
Tesco prices don't beat Asda and their quality doesn't beat Waitrose (both of which local stores would allow me to use at least a handful of coupons if Tesco pull the rug out from under my feet!). I will go where my coupons take me, lol!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

if you complain you might make things worse.
All staff might be trained NOT to take mocs... so dont complain just try a happy scanner :P.0 -
I work at the metro - just been onto the extra and used 7 coupons that they should not of taken - if the manager is implementing the policy as he says he is !!!!
I really think it is a lottery - myself and my partner went through 2 different c/outs at the same time at the wk/end with the same coupon (tuborg) and the SA took mine but not his ????????
It really is down to luck but I fear that it may end everywhere soon as soon many people are having to turn to coupons to make ends meet.:eek:0 -
i went through today no problem i just wait for a happy scanner patience is a virtue, and dont let the checkout girl throw a wobbly shout yourself - i find that yes u do take them is a good start, then get the best policy u can find print it off shove it in the faces, then if that dont work shout 4 the manager making big fuss as u can - if no joy tell them u off to asda or aldi make them pack all the stuff away againSIMPLES!0

Ive found a couple of Tescos that take coupons with no probs, another that only takes two, another that takes 10% of your overall shopping. Another Tesco said they would accept the coupons but the supervisor would have to go around the store and check they kept each item yawn yawn!! with the rest of the queue behind me tutting and cursing, how embarrassing!! Even each particular cashier can vary but generally I would recommend that you go to a till where the cashier is under the age of 20 or failing this as young as possible. I think the younger cashiers just except computers, technology and internet coupons as a part of life and dont query it.2008£3002009£13002010£15002011£41952012£21942013£1494
