How can this manager dare accuse any customer of "abuse".

There is only one abuse going on - that is the abuse of the coupon system by Tesco who are delighted to make the suppliers pay up for the coupons plus a profitable handling fee on every one that gets handed in.

Why should it be wrong to pay all your shopping, or make 3 trips because of an artificial ceiling. Would it be abuse to take your family in, have a trolley each and a fistful of dollars each?

Tesco don't really care - they just want our money - preferably in coupons which are more profitable for them than money! This manager hasn't quite grasped it yet.

Been in tonight to use up my coupons - got to the till and they are now refusing all coupons as the manager has decided to bring in his policy from today (he's obviously used up all his own coupons already) rather than the 07/07 they have been advertising. Don't know what the point was in putting up adverts with that date on in the first place - heard customer service giving out the head office number for complaints 4 times while I was there.
Have sent email to tescos be interesting to see what there response is - wonder if they have done a stock reply yet as I'm sure some other people reading this will have contacted them too.
BTW I got a completely different version of the 'aledged' coupon abuse from the cashier I spoke to than the one given out by the manager which mainly centred on the purchasing of gift cards and top ups....
Somebody is making it up as they are going along!

I visit two local tescos daily :P

I have 3-4 tescos in my local area hehe :P Two on the road to/from work.. so I visit one before work and one after work.

I use the same copies of coupons and most get used.

I buy 8-10 pound worth of shopping at each store... each day... saving me doing a weekly shopping :).

When i have H+B I use H+B with MOCs and cut down on the shopping... or I visit Tesco more :P. I dont call this abuse.. I call this being clever and me being lucky working next to a tesco :P

Doesn't sound like abuse to me either, as long as all the coupons are NSS and in date (with no bus tickets, book tokens or Sainsburys/Asda/Somerfield etc. coupons in there of course) - it sounds very moneysaving.:T
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Okay, I know this is a printable coupons but I just thought I should share this with you all. I have probably recieved more coupons via post than i have printable ones.

I emailed companies (Mars click here )
    (johnsons click here)
    (purina click here)
    (lovethe garden click here)

and simply email them asking if they send money off coupons by post? then leave your name and address.

I received 2 x £1 from Mars ( 1 for dolmio, 1 for uncle bens - ALONG WITH a HUGE file of recipes for both companies of them and some Dolmio minced beef bolognese sauce, dolmio penne pasta, and uncle bens long grain rice) :rotfl:

    I received 1 x £2 from johnsons

    I received 2 x £1 from love the garden

    I receieved 1 x £5 , 1 x 75p & 1 x £1 from Purina.

Thats £12.75 in MOC for 4 emails!!

Well worth it I think! :D

No luck with Purina, they emailed back today with links to their websites saying that free samples are available.

No reply as yet from any of the others
    :j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

Just been to local Tescos for the shopping. Bill came to £31 gave the cashier a £3 off £30 spend at Sainsburys and a load of other various MOC. He said I couldn't use them as I hadn't purchased any of the products. Informed him that Tesco policy is supposed to be to accept the coupons if the item is stocked by them. He checked with his colleague on the next till, who said I was correct. It was only then I noticed my cashier's name badge informed me he was "THE CHECKOUT MANAGER"!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

What chance do any of the staff have of knowing the correct policy when the chap in charge has no idea. Then just to add insult to injury he forgot to add my Clubcard points on and I had to go to Customer Services to get it put right......................if only Asda would take my coupons I would go there.

The boosted smoothie is stocked in Tesco and is on special offer at £1.49, don't buy it though, just use the free coupon and that knocks £2.49 off your bill
