You do seem to have dual standards with regard to coupons.
You post that you regularly use coupons as cash, and act as an authority on the practice, advising how to go about doing this.
And on the other side you post that this particular coupon will get "over-use" which you aren't happy about - giving as one reason you won't as you don't buy the product "anyway".

I reckon the over-use of it over the next 9 months will be worse than the over-use of that annoyingly-naive free Diet Coke coupon in January. At least that was only valid for a few weeks and most people bought the prioduct I expect (as it was a free product coupon). But AFAIK the repercussions of that one and Quentin's fave, the printable DM book token , have already affected internet-coupon acceptance in many Tesco.
Bye bye coupon policy, it was nice while it lasted.
It does seem an odd couponog ... 'My' Tescolditz only accept any one printed coupon (which it seems is the way many are now going) so cannot be abused unless someone uses the SS till ... They however will accept them in multiples if you buy ... I have found some of these handy from Couponet etc as I have bought the product ... ie my remaining ancient hound enjoys a Pedigree Chum Joint Care every morning now ... and will likely for the rest of the year thanks to their 3for promotion which has just finished ...
If they accept this one I will be pleased as I buy this stuff ... mens and womens ... on a regular basis ... though I do think they will draw close examination ... which may limit their acceptability on a non-buy basis ...LittleBill ... Good to see the official tesco statement, which i will be taking shopping with me because only a couple of weeks ago, the till staff in tesco extra @ Lee Mill stated that i could use coupons to pay, as long as they came to no more than 10% of the total value of my shopping. At that time it made no difference but having just spent the last 2 hours finding/printing coupons ......0

I don't buy mitchum but I will certainly use it! my tesco are generally ok with coupons as long as they are valid and in date. they will take multiples. (at the moment!)3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

You asked the question but you've already had the answer lots of times, and not just from me.
It's because a continuation of the coupon policy depends upon the ability of Tesco to get the money back, doh!
If people use unredeemable coupons (as this Mitchum one will end up being IMHO) the stockpile of worthless/returned coupons WILL get noticed by Tesco. Just as happened with the Diet Coke coupon (which is one of several that really gave them the jitters about internet prints, this year, for the first time). Just as happens each month when Tesco (annoyingly slowly) react each time to the DM [strike]bus[/strike] book token by blocking it on the tills, as I think you may just have noticed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I tried copying it on to a text page and it came out smaller but quite blurry ... I have a Mac so my system is a little different ... however I found I simply changed the paper size while printing from the PDF window and printed smaller clearer ones ... I can then send the paper back through the other way around and print two per page which considering the minimal ink and coupon value is quite acceptable to me ...
Ooh actually I can get 4 on ... I set it to print 4x6" and can get four if I print one in each corner .. two per side ...
Goodness ... I know ... I have just sent everybody screaming ...
Sorry if this is not much help if you have Permeable Computer ... :^)LittleBill ... "The riches of a man can be measured by what he can do without"0 -
As you may of seen from my earlier posts - our local tesco have brought in the 10% policy, so i emailed tesco and this is the reply
Thank you for your email.
I have detailed below some information on the acceptance of coupons in our stores which I hope will help you.
All Tesco specific coupons display the Tesco logo. We'll only accept these at the till if you buy the product shown on the coupon at the time.
We're happy to accept a non-Tesco product coupon even if you don't buy the item. But, the coupon must be in date and Tesco must sell the product. If you present more than one identical coupon you need to purchase the same number of products. This also includes coupons printed from the Internet, but these will only be accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager.
I hope this has helped to explain things for you.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at customer.service@tesco.co.uk quoting TES5xxxxxxx
Kind Regards
