Heres a question! Do you need to put the barcode in the generator with spaces? ie 9 90000000 000000 ? What is the difference between the different types of named barcodes and how do you know which one to use?
Im thouroughly confused, can someone please explain it to someone who has NO CLUE what so ever how to input a barcode to a generator?
hi, I use www.terryburton.co.uk/barcodewriter/generator, and in the page Required parameters area select, Symbology:EAN-13;Contents:9900000000000000(without space); and leave others auto select. Then press make barcode, you will see the barcode will show on bottom. Hope that will help.

I would have asked her if she was the manager
When she replied no I would have asked to speak to the store manager and then politelt ask him his personal policy on coupons and direct him to Tescos coupon policy. (in fact I did this in Nottingham and now I get very little problems redeeming my coupons)

I had exactly the same good result in a South of England coupon-hating store. It's worth referring it further up the line instore and making it clear you already KNOW what the coupon policy is, nationally. It's more than most of the staff know so you start off with an advantage on most staff if you can be confident about it with Managers.

I spoke to the Store manager at Christmas after I got marched to the CS desk by a jobsworth. SM said he didn't have a problem with it IF it was the policy, and he asked his staff to check & come back to me. He was very reasonable, better than his staff!

They didn't bother to come back to me, even though I left my details and I followed it up several times. So in March I got an email from HO myself & wrote to the Store manager direct to prove the policy. I didn't ask for permission to use coupons, or even a reply (none came) I just stated the facts & said I trust I will have no further problems.

Since then, they accept any amount of coupons, every time. :T

I just lurrrve the grudging look on some of the previously-jobsworth cashiers' faces in there now, when they try to say no and find that they can't get away with it any more! I have still had to refer to Supervisors & Duty managers a couple of times recently (always get a yes now) but mostly I just show my email & a copy of my own letter that went to their SM.

If you go through the SS tills can you get away with it? I know it kicks up for validation if the coupon is more than a percentage of the outstanding total. If that didn't affect it could we still use the coupons even though the store is anti-coupon?
    Do they have SS tills?

It was the first time in years I went this store, and didn't notice if they had them, as I try not to go on them anyway.

Hi, coupon-mad you r genius. I went to my local ASDA today with the e-mail that R4ptrue publiced in this thread and try to argue with them as they refused my OH to use the coupons without buying the products. However, the CS said he cannot found their CS manager, so I asked the store manager instead, but he still not looking for me. He asked why I'm looking for the managers, I said I want to ask the authorise from them. And then he asked what's for. So I told him for confirm the coupon policies with them. And he asked me to show him the e-mail, which I did. Then he said they do following the policies, however, they will only take not more than one internet coupons a time. Then I pointed out that their policies actaully allowed me to use one for each item I purchased in one signle transaction, which he agreed. But,he said they have several different coupon policies instore (wired??!!), and according to their instore policies I can only use the coupon to pay off 10% of my bill. I then asked its that means they have their own policies that over their HO? He said no, and told me what he said is according to another coupon policies that he know.:confused: After that no matter what I said he sticked at his 10% policies and also not looking the managers for me as well. During the whole period I kept polite and smile all the times and even thanked him before I left the shop. I wonder should I go back to have another try? But yearterday after my OH been refused he asked to see the managers as well, and the staffs not looking for him evasively as well. So I'm not sure if that because managers asked them not to bother? Any suggestions, please?

Thank you for your message.Thank you for your email.I have now received a call from the Nottingham store.- ASDA do accept internet coupons.- As long as we stock the product you don't have to buy it to us the coupon.- The limit of the amount of coupons that can be used is down to the stores discretion, for example, if your shopping comes to the amount of £50 and you would like to use £30 in vouchers this would not be possible in most cases.- Coupons can only be used in the ASDA store, not the petrol stations.- All ASDA stores do accept internet coupons however, the amount that can be used is down to stores discretion. Thanks again.Lucy RobinsonASDA Service Team----

Hi, didn't realise you'd updated the first post as well as post no. 81 - that's the one with the link that doesn't work. (It's at the top of page 3, well it is if your settings are the max no. of posts per page)

    Cheers

    Hi

I was in Tesco earlier (using £15 of mocs + the £5 Sun coupon!!) and the till beeped when the Schloer coupon went through. The assistant handed it back to me and said 'it won't accept this one'.

I was too grateful that the beep didn't mean something else (ie too many coupons!!) that I didn't want to ask her WHY it wouldn't scan.

Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be that Tesco don't stock the bottle on the coupon? The coupon was printed on semi-glossy paper, so the quality of print was not the problem.

    Just curious.

The Tesco that I shop at won't accept any internet coupons at all. I think they are worried that they are photocopies/scans ie duplicates and so they won't get their money for them.

Should have gone to [strike]Specsavers[/strike] Tesco!!

Sorry that's my best suggestion and I don't work for Tesco or anything, (I 'earn' more from couponing than I would PT on a till!). My local Asda only allow 10% off as well and my local Waitrose is just as useless, allowing just 1 or 3 coupons altogether depending on which Supervisor you get. So I vote with my feet and go where the coupons are acceptable off my whole shop; Tesco.

Asda & Waitrose do have store discretion on their coupon policy; Tesco (supposedly) don't, except for whether or not they accept internet prints. If you can go and have the same discussion with Management as you just had - but in your local Tesco instead - you may have more success. If there's no Tesco near you then I am afraid you may have to accept that you will only get 10% off in Asda.

    This is Non Store Specific

Really good of you to keep this updated for us... if it helps, Red magazine expired yesterday, so you can remove.

    Thanks.
