Hi Mizmir..that's one big list!!!!!
unfortnately I do too much of no 4 and not a lot of 1,2 or 3..lol...you will get there I'm absolutely sure.0 -
Hi Miz - those descriptions are great! I'm going to adopt those - I think I'm being good coming onto mse, but its really the equivalent of chatting to the neighbour... some more quality time on here is required!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
-
I liked them - made more sense of how to carve up the time. Taxi - :rotfl::rotfl: - I do a LOT of 4. That is what I need to lose - the mindless TV watching - the spending hours on here (just in case!). Make that time more focused - choosing in advance what to watch (and not just stuff cos its on), spending less but better quality time on here etc.
Had my health check at work today which was a bit of a wake up call. High cholestorol, high blood sugar, high bmi etc. Bottom line is at the moment my chances of coronary heart disease in the next 10 years are 10% higher than they should be at my age . Message is - healthier diet, more exercise - not rocket science but I have to do it or it is only going to get worse. At the moment I am at heightened risk of diabetes as well. So I went shopping on the way home and got lots of fruit and veg, oat based cereals etc (needed to shop anyway). Things around here are going to change.
First - I am going to start wearing my pedometer. Need to see how much I walk and increase it up to 10K steps at least. Second am going to make sure I have 5 fruit/veg a day (and a jaffa cake doesn't count :rotfl:). Third I am going to cut down my intake of processed food. That will do for now. I know I don't do dieting very well but I reckon if I do those three things I will start to see a difference - and then I will have the motivation (and energy hopefully) to do more!
Sorry for the essay!0 -

I'm going to have a nsd - working at home and not leaving the house!
doesn't really count in terms of effort.
Well done on getting the list completely finished.
EDIT: oh, the medical! Well, if you get it fixed now, your lifestyle I mean, you'll go into middle age on a healthy basis, and thats really important. Good for you for determining to make the change.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
WOW ..well done on the whole list.Sorry to hear your medical wasn't brill but at least the wake up call isn't too late and changing things one step at a time will really make a difference..know what you mean about time spent on here etc as well.Take care xx0

Thanks guys. Bit of a rollercoaster of a day. Some good stuff then ended up breaking down with someone at work - it was odd as I wasn't unhappy - just was talking about workload etc and next thing I was struggling to keep it together. He was very sweet but it was really worrying as I hadn't realised how stressed at work I am. Took the dogs out for a long walk when I got home and have had a good chat to OH and as well as the health improvements I think I am going to get some stress counselling. I feel like I am taking responsibility for everything - don't want to add to OH's stress (with her work situation) though she is very supportive. And my workload just keeps increasing....
I know I add to it doing the dog training but it is the only thing I do which I find really relaxing and which is for me if you see what I mean. But I am not sure if I can manage everything.
But I did at least have a NSD!and managed my 5 a day (6 actually) and 10K steps....
