Does anyone know the best way to clean the doors of a stainless steel fridge? I have tried several things - washing up liquid, water, special stainless steel cleaner, antibacterial spray and all leave it looking smeared and nothing gets the fingerprints off. I use a microfibre cloth too.

    Many thanks

  • I would try hot soapy water with your cloth the polish it up as it's drying with a shammy (I know thats not how you spell it :D) leather :)
  • I use baby oil which keeps my appliances looking very smart and smear free.:)

To remove water spots on stainless steel, rub area with a clean, soft cloth dampened with white vinegar. Then wipe dry to avoid spots.

I use WD40 on my stainless steel cooker ?

When I worked for a company which had a lot of steel doors on display we used ajax powder, wiped on damp, washed off then polished to a shine with a clean dry cloth
One day I might be more organised...........

I agree....a small amount of baby oil on a dry, soft cloth...does the trick better than anything!!

Good Housekeeping recommend baby oil like most of the posters here. In this month's mag they tell you exactly how to use it. Try their website, but if it isn't on there I can dig it out and post it if you like.

    Hi All,

Please help with this one. I have been using Mr Sheen for Metal to shine my stove top after I have cleaned it. The problems is once I have it's so steaky and you can see watermarks on it. Is there anything else I can use? This was quite pricey and it looked like it would work but it makes it look worse.

    Thanks.

I tend to use a vinegar spray to stop streaks ... however, I've heard that baby oil is what you need for stainless steel ovens
