uninstall v7.5 and install v8 instead. Use this link for the free version. The best way to install is to download and save the installation file. Then disconnect from the net and remove 7.5. Close down any other security systems you may have running and then double click the file you've just downloaded. When complete, re-connect to the net, reboot your PC and AVG will automatically update itself.
When you install AVG 8 it automatically uninstalls 7.5 for you! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Any one else installed and having problems connecting to the update database?
I manually removed 7.5 and installed latest version form download.com.
Once installed I was unable to make a connection with the update server to update the databases. Help was provided in another thread to overcome this problem (disengage the firewall). Unfortunately, the automatic database update still doesn't work since the system cannot make connection w/their server unless I turn off my resident firewall (Comodo).
Any one solved this issue. Besides removing comodo that is!!0 -

I have McAfee. Should I download AVG 8, then disconnect (pull the lead out) from the internet, uninstall it then install AVG 8. Or will it install happily with McAfee until it is removed?0
