I'm very sorry that you're going through such hell. My advice would be to take a financial hit now just to get shot of the place, sell now if you can and move out as soon as possible. It really isn't worth risking your health and your sanity living in fear.0

regarding video cameras, i would strongly advise against this.
i had a problem with kids years ago, who used the outside of my flat for drug dealing, i recorded them at it,i.e. money and drugs changing hands.
i called the police and they said my video evidence was unacceptable as i had not asked the kids permission to video them.
eventually i moved out my area after the same gang of kids killed someone outside our local shops. the gary newlove case is just the top of the iceberg.
more disturbingly now, police are now asking to people to take down video cameras and are threatening those that dont with prosecution and possibly being placed on the sex offenders register.
from my experience of these matters the police are firmly on the kids side.
the best advice which some have already given, is to hire some "unofficial" law inforcers from the roughest boozer in town. also it is not as expensive as you would think, i was quoted £500 for a knee-capping, a good roughing up came in at about £100.0 -

Personally, in this day in age you don't even have to get your own hands dirty, plenty of people are willing to do it for you (for a price obviously), but at least you know when it's done, these youths will be in a lot of pain and have plenty of time to reflect on their actions while hiding. I personally think the parents need punishing as well as the youths for not beating sense in to their scumbag children when they first started becoming parasites on society.
I wouldnt recommend him getting involved with other thugs, at best he'd be ripped off and at worst he'd be sucked into something a decent person wouldnt want to be involved in. And if whoever perpetrated these acts was caught they'd squeal like a piglet and he would probably end up locked up too. He wants to move to get AWAY from crime remember?0 -

Is there some sort of price comparison website you can link to. This is a moneysaving site after all.0 -

Sorry to hear about your situation - it sounds like a nightmare. My boyfriend went through something similr not so long back (although he was renting so not as bad). I reckon people are getting really over-dramatic here. Taking kids in hand isn't about kneecapping and getting thugs to bash heads together! But if you're living on or near a tough estate, it is about finding somoene the kids respect and getting them onside. My BF was pretty quiet, not the violent type at all, but there were a couple of guys on the estate - ex army guys - who no one wanted to mess with. They were great guys, not thugs in any way, good fathers, musicians, would help anyone out, but also tatooed, large and didn't take any crap. Me and the BF happened to know them from music sessions, and it was getting one of them involved - letting the kids know he was a friend - that stopped the problems. No violence, not even raised voices, just a guy they know they had to respect giving them a talking to. I'd go with the BBQ idea in the meantime, while you're trying to figure out the best way out...

Hi, thought I'd add my tuppence worth.... see my thread '2nd/3rd time buyers who can't afford to move' for the bare bones of our situation.
I really sympathise for you and hope you can get a resolution very soon.
It is ridiculous that we are having this conversation when the little fuquits are out there doing what they want. I was told by the antisocial behaviour team from the council to go and tell the neighbours when they're disturbing us...we had done so for a couple of years and now refuse to. Why should we when they are paid to do that job? We certainly don't pay a mortgage to nanny and mentor other peoples' appalling behaviour, that's why we reported them - it's THEIR job. We were also told that we'd gain the reputation as being quote 'the complainers on the street' unquote. Noise monitors didn't prove statutory noise, so no joy for the environment either. Police take forever to turn up.. ONE pcso for 12 villages?!
The noise/antisocial behaviour was already there unknown to us at the time of purchase. The night we ended up going official - after someone else called the police - the drunken !!!!!! next door was trying to stab his wife in front of his feral kids at 1.30am (one of many, many violent rows at all hours including holding her hostage with a loaded shotgun, suffocation etc etc. She is not an innocent victim thopugh - just as bad); it spilled out onto the street and he punched her again and tried to bottle her, so my husband went up. The !!!!!! then tried his martial arts stuff on my hubby (who had been training as a kickboxing instructer until his knee gave way) and didn't land a punch. This is a little rural Devonshire village not an inner city sink estate.
So, what can WE do?
My situation gets us down, and it seems to be endemic wherever you are.
I really feel for you - and anyone else in this predicament. I suggest if you can afford it and are prepared to accept losses, then get out pdq for your own wellbeing's sake. Keep us posted, good luck.0
