Yog is deffo better if you add it right at the end.
I have a DELICIOUS yog curry recipe, if you're interested....
Fry an onion, some turmeric and some cumin seeds. Add mustard seeds (from Asian shop) as an extra if you like them. Fry until onion cooked and seeds start to jump.
Throw in a good handful of dessicated coconut. (You MUST buy this at an Asian shop as it is less than half the price of supermarkets.)
Enjoy the delicious smell. (This is one of the most fragrant dishes ever).
Throw in 2 small pots of plain yog, or one of the 500ml ones which are 3 for £1 at all good Asian shops.
Heat through and eat with basmati or brown rice for choice. Even if the yog does 'go bitty', this is still WONDERFUL!!:drool:Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

Any ideas guys? I know I can replace coconut milk with yoghurt in curries, but it seems to go bitty even if I add it before the curry has boiled. Maybe I should fold it in at the end...
Any ideas gratefully received.0 -
Hi jobbinmisician - thanks for that - sounds loverly!
I take it that'd be for a base sauce and I'd then have to add veg/chicken etc?
Are there any ways to avoid the yoghurt going 'bitty'? It's never bitty when ordered from take-away...
How do I make my own passanda? I love that!MFW #185

No, it's not a base sauce (although you can use it for one) - it's actually a proper curry. There's enough protein in milk to be going on with - it came out of a vegetarian cookery book many years ago. Having said that, I usually serve it as a side dish. You can add loads of other things - (parboiled) carrots are a favourite of mine, but of course you could also throw strips of chicken or other meat in at the beginning and stir fry them into the dish.Ex board guide. Hi Eager Learner, make sure you are not using the 'set' yoghurt but the ordinary runny stuff. The 'set' yoghurt always goes bitty.0

Ahhhh - I used 'set' yoghurt - that's the problem! Thanks lots xMFW #185

Hello All
Smart price noodles and handful of frozen mixed veg
porridge oats - bought by scoop, made with water for break
French onion soup with whoops bread.
If noodles cost less than 20p per pack and onions are a super six - and bread is whoops. Then this could feed two for 24 hours.
But theres no room for tea coffee, any between meal snacks.
You would get some veg in towards the 5 a day, but this is over in price if the bread isnt whoops.
