Post 1000!
Does that mean I'm sad and don't have a life?
**uses saddle bags to cover her post count**
Typical I take one slurp of wine (found it under the lettuce) and DP calls to say please move my car......grump, I'd just got comfy!
 cheers soappie (PS I don't think I like this wine very much)
*edit* wine must have evaporatedthink I needed that
One day I might be more organised...........

Lil-me: Ok, I'll just face up to it - it confirms something I've thought for a long time - I don't have a life.
But hey, I'll just dig out the shawl and wrap myself in it and become the old lady of this thread. I might even find my knitting needles and some wool and knit something.
But, when I think about it, I quite like where I am in not having a life. I am able to do what *I* want when *I* want to do it. That must count for something...no, in fact, it counts for a hell of a lot!
But, salmon needs to be got out of freezer, defrosted in the microwave and then cooked along with the rice. Rosemary and Thyme is on cable at 8pm - I shall enjoy that.
And I'm sorry if it was the virtual glass of wine I gave you that you didn't like - it's a rather nice, cheeky Pinot Grigio..I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

No it's the real one I wasn't keen on, but it went down, quickly :rotfl: hot flush time now so maybe too quickly
did feel nice just relaxing with a glass (I should buy some proper wine glasses as it looked 'wrong' in a pepsi glass) It's a very long time since I last had a drink at home (only had the one as I have the boys and DP is at work) but enjoyed it. I bought myself some pear cider too, just one bottle, something else I used to enjoy, maybe tomorrow night as DP is on about buying a BBQ tomorrow and his brother has been told now if he wants to come over socially he can bring his car or get a taxi unless I offer! (the talks with DP are getting somewhere as this was one of my hates that I was playing taxi to him on DPs nights off)
I agree with you with the life thing, ok I have my restrictions when it comes to the children, studying etc but on the whole I do most of what I want to do, studying was my choice as were the children (well sort of) part of me wishes I was back working now but part of me also enjoys being who I am, but the other part is saying *well with not working the house should be in better order* but the kitchen shouldn't take me more than 10 minuteslaundry might take a while longer but at least it's all clean.
I was trying to explain what we did to some of the parents at school, eventually got to the bottom of it that they couldn't be without their posh hair dos, expensive holidays, nights in restaurants, weekends out etc etc and not work. Like I said we gave up a lot but I'd rather spend every evening and weekend with my boys, their Dad is there most of it aswell inc meeting DS1 from school etc he only works 3 nights a week usually but apart from the Sundays when he's usually away (apart from this weeksee I am getting there) they have him all the way through the holidays, collecting them from school etc has to be more to them than seeing them for 4 weeks holiday a year. Hearing little ones call their childminder Mam just was the icing on the cake and when they all said they wished they weren't so selfish and could give up the life they have become dependant on.
One day I might be more organised...........

Lil-me - quick dash in between pinging microwaves and R&T about to start.
YOU are SO right - time with your children and their time with their Dad is far more important than hairdos and goings out and restaurant meals. (Although these do have their place as long as it's occasional and affordable).
Most of the time my two kids were growing up, as a single parent, I was working all hours - they were with childminders etc. a lot of the time. I would have LOVED to be able to give them quality time and stability but couldn't because I had to earn the money to put a roof over their heads.
!!{hugs}}
off to do the rice, the salmon and R&T!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

:hello: Evening everyone.
Just a quick catch up this evening as Ive been to work. Ive been working in a different home so its been a nice change. Plus they have a beautiful garden and we have managed to get out a bit. There has not been any rain here yet.
Hugs for everyone and hope you all have a good weekend.0 -
Evening ladies glad you all seem to have had nice days.
Lil_me Knebworth was lovely, we only live on junction down the motorway from there. I used to live even closer as a child so would go there a lot. It has changed a fair bit since when we were kids but they still have the astroglide - it has relocated and it embedded on a grass bank now. DS2 and 3 had a great time together so DH and I just sat on a blanket, chatted and read, ages since we have done that.
Picked up our jet washer and a bookcase from Mum's house on the way home. I have put the bookcase by my bed instead of the bedside table and moved the books over - it looks great. I just need to sort the rest of the stuff tomorrow.
Just need to update my list and then a cuppa for me - not in the mood for wine and as we have friends over tomorrow afternoon I know I'll be sipping away then. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
