Well done on the overdraft Jak! That's a major acheivement.
It's natural to be panicky about your first baby, my number one piece of advice...trust your instincts!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
Thanks. I've just done it and cancelled my over draft. Feel rather like i'm getting somewhere. It's so scary though actually, now i'm getting near the end of my jmourney. It'slike having to change your whole attitude to money and spending...like the over draft as an extension of eages thing. It isn't but getting my head round that is really hard. I won't put it back on thought!!!!
Sod the buffer..I'm determined to sort out my money properly this time!!!
Just the personal laon to go now!!! £576 to go. I hope to be able to pay most of it off at the end of this month then let it run for 2 payments and it'll close itself down automatically. It depends when I get my mat. allowance tho. If that takes weeks then I might have to move my payments around a bit. Either way, by the time this baby is born my debt will be negligable, if not completely gone.

Oooh just got another voucher from consumer piulse: Arcadia this time £10. So can use it in dotty p's, topshop, burton, wallis etc. Cool. Putting towards Chrismas obviously. I'm trying to get as many different vouchers for shops as I can to minimise expenditure on pressies.
Going to get a Next voucher next (as it were) then WHSmith, the Denenhams I think as i've only got £2.20 on a gift card there so far.

It's ok my blood pressure has gone back down to normal range n ow, so i've just got to have an extra check next week to make sure. Phew! Also I've been asleep for 3 hours...I was SO tired after all the worry!
A friend has just picked up some things we sold him so should get £56 tomorrow. Items cost £16.90 so profit of £31.10! This is for our holiday 'spends' but at least it'll boost them up. We are aiming for £200 pcm and have made £133 so far. I keep it in my name so dh can't spend it on crap!
I cna't wait till my debts are cleared. This feels like the longest month EVER! Partly becasue i'm waiting for the baby to arrive and partly because i'm trying to get the majority of my debts paid off by then.
I've been working on my Dads book for Christmas this week. I can't get the same brilliant photo album as my Mums cause Wilkco has stopped selling it...grrrrrrrr. BUT i'm getting the photos i've already got backed and writing captions etc to save myself a job later as that's quite time consuming. I'm off to look for a photo album now...

Thanks Lucille. The light at the end of the tunnel is a bit scary actually. It makes me want to go mad b uying stuff...= not good obviously! So i'm having to make a real effort to stay out of the shops. I WILL do it though!!!!
It's amazing how fast it goes down..40k might seem like loads but when you look back at your journey, you'll be amazing how quick you paid it off!
Good luck!!!!

Well today was mean't to be a spend day but my friend had no money/petrol so I went to her house for a cup of tea which was really nice (and YUMMY cake!) So didn't actually spend anything which is good~! I've just cashed £3.70 out of William Hill casino, having spent my £5 to get my Quidco cashback. It's tracking so that should be ok.
I'm thinking about setting up another poker acount now to get the cashback but it's so nice a day i'm not sure I can be bothered! I might do some work in the garden for now then do my poker later. I wonder how much I can get. It would be brilliant to have over £300 tracking in my Quidco before the baby comes- it's for my Cristmas money, so the more we have, he better Christmas will be! Plus... I really want to get dh an ipod for his birthday- 3rd January or at least give him some money towards one! He might want something else by then tho...But at least the money would be available for that then if we were careful over Christmas. Have to see what I can do.
Will post back later no doubt with progress!

Well my jackpotjoy is validated for £10 not £15 which means no profit unless I win a lot on bingo as I had to put £10 in! Grrrrrr! That'll have to come out of the gifts money for next month as I need the cash back now really, not in August! Oh well! It's a bit annoying tho!
My friend was meant to be coming round and cooking me tea but she wants to go out for a coffee instead as she's not feeling well...so that's money to be spent today, I suppose! I hope not too many people stare at me today. It drives me MAD when they do that! You would think it's unheard of to be heavily pregnant and still able to move around! I've also had loads of comments which I don't like either! People are trying to be nice but I don't really want to discuss my birth plan with total strangers at the till in Wilkcos! So Weird!!!

Well I've spoken to my friend and instead of us going out for dinner on Thurs she is coming here. RESULT! She always wants me to go and spend money..but no more! We have to save what we've got now after debt repayment for our house fund etc. so that has to be priority. PLUS the girls I tend to meet for dinner is once a month..which is quite a lot really. It always ends up costing £20 plus so i'm going to knock that on the head now too.
Maybe i'll go every other month or so.
Anyway, I saw the nidwife today and the head is 3/5 engaged! Ohhhh very excited. He's also in the right position and his heart beat was SO loud! Just like a train, so funny! I can't wait to meet him. We are borrowing a baby sling from a friend when he arrives, so that's one less thing to buy! And we really wanted one so that's great.
Money wise, i'm down a bit this month because stupid partypoker hasn't tracked in quidco so i'm going to juggle to pay stuff off. I also won't get any pay for mat allowance for ages as there is a backlog so I need to pay off most of my loan- leaving nothing really for spends but that's ok, we'll have a new baby! And we've got 2 free cinema tickets to use so we can go out for free on them! DH wants too see kung-fu panda for god sake! But it'll make him happy so....
The plan is to pay off £450 of my personal loan so that the 1st July payment and 1st Aug payments are the last. Hopefully then the mat allowance can go straight for savings when it eventually does arrive! We've got an expensive month this month as we've got to pay double council tax, plus it's mums 60th and we need £50 to get to her house plus dinner out (at least another £50) so ouch.... Mind you, at least we've budgetted for it so it may hurt but we know it's coming! I've made her the coolest present ever and I can't wait to give it to her!!!!2022 Comp total (prizes + free spins): £494.81 #20 £12 a day Jan: £382.95/£372 #57 360 1p challenge: £17.70 £10 a day Feb: £571.09/£280 March: £311.96/£3100 -
Hi how long have you got to go now? All my 4 were overdue and I was induced with all of them. I was looking forward to the manic car ride to hospital but it never happened!!
