Also got home to discover hussband had taken the last £10 food money out of the kitty to work in case he wanted to buy stuff at work! After had major FIT, we had another talk about how the socializing budget could be used for stuff like that...not the bl**dy food money. Honestly. He said he couldn't find the socializing money- but it was in a bag, in the drawer labelled 'socializing' so he didn't actually look for it at all...
I'm trying to decide if maybe instead of have shared money, we should have seperate money like pocket money to spend. I just can't seem to make him understand how desperate our situation is! If he can't work this winter, then how are we going to live? It really is as crucial as that AND we'll have a baby then!!!!!! It is so important that we save enough so that if the worst does happen, we don't need to borrow more money to be able to survive. This is what got us into the mess in the first place! And i'll be on mat leave until March so I can't work.
I need to sit down and talk to him AGAIN about money and stuff. I really need him to listen adn try to understand that althoug he makes good money now, it isn't available to waste because each months pay has to last 2 months if he's off!

I also had a conversation with my Mother today. She's just got baclk off holiday and they have 'upgraded' their timeshare from 2 weeks to 1 in Furtventura. I said 2 years ago that we would go but thewn we couldn't afford it, then this year I was pg. Now next year she has asked about borrowing a cot etc. so we can go! It's going to cost at least £200 each for flights plus spending money! We really can't afford it..but I don't feel like we can sayt no now. The other annoying thing is that it would cost the same to go anywhere else for 1 week SC (which is what this is) without HAVING to go there with them. I love my Mum but I can't STAND her husband and the thought of him in shorts...ewwwwwww. Yuk. I'm dreading it already. So that's another £600 we need. Oh god!!!
On the plus siode of things, I got another £2.50 in tips today and have picked up another shift at work. On Monday so it'll be double time- so 10 hours pay for 5 hours work! Great! That can come off my debt the week after next and hopefully bring forward my debt free date slightly! It all helps.
I've e-mailed Mum to explain about the holiday- I've said we want to go but with our NZ trip going to cost £3000 +, we can only afford it if we can get cheap flights. And they would have to be CHEAP! I'm really upset about the whole thing to be honest. It's awful. I feel like i've let her down.

I PAID OFF MY CREDIT CARD TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy! I will put the £38 I took from the holiday spends money back into the account on Thursday when I get paid! I'm so chuffed. AND it was dh who said to use the holiday spends money if I needed to! I said I wouldn't, but then it seems silly to have it sitting in an account when I need it for debt repayment! I didn't use all of it, just some! We still have £115 in there plus I transfered £80 to dh current account to cover the cheques he's written so that's good! I need to put £38 into the holiday spends when I get paid- plus transfer £22 into the savings when I get that ROUGUE DD back from wilkinsonsplus- AND I WILL!!!!
Next step: reduce my over draft by £300 to a £100 buffer. THen start to tackle my personal loan!

    Hi Jak
You're doing well - you're paying attention to detail, and thats how we get dfw! You're right about not having the money sitting there while there's a debt, absolutely. OTOH, sorry about the Wilkinson's thing, did that get sorted?

Well done on paying off your CC Jak. Just a thought, has your OH read your diary here? That might help him understand the measures you are taking to sort things out for your family. Anyway, am just really impressed with what you are doing - kudos to ya mate! :D
