Stop complaining, a few years ago you did not have the activate security feature of your card, scum bag's could steal the card in the post and use it before it was detected. As I stated in my previous post use Say No to 0870 web site and find a geographical alternative.

Activation is a security feature to protect the CC companies, also I tried that say no to 0870 for the Alliance and Leicester when I was trying to contact them and the number provided didn't work.

If a HBOS credit card has not been activated within 90 days then the credit card will be cancelled anyway. It is for security, to confirm the card is in the correct hands.
What beats me is why people apply for cards and then not bother to activate the card!!?

Not true i'm afraid, there's no closure of accounts that HBOS do based on not activating your card. Though it equally baffles me why someone would bother signing for a card and not activate/use it.

We were informed of that in the branch - hence the points the branch gets for a credit card, is taken off if card not activated within 90 days. Maybe it was just a warning.
How have you been informed different? do you work in card services?

I just got a new AMEX and it was activated online which I thought was good. There was a phone number to do it as well, I think that was an 0870
