You're absolutely right. I should know, I had to sue my last cashback company (mobile rainbow) and I still haven't had all the money they owe me, from December!

I can't see why they won't just offer the deals straight up!

Well I can actually - They would lose the fortunes they make for the unfortunates who's bills arrive too early or too late!

Just ordered my phone this morning, hopefully it will arrive in the morning (before i go to work) :j

I got the online 25 tariff for £22 a month instead of £25 with 200 mins and 400 texts :D

£3 pm is £45 over the term. Better than nothing (says the tightarse Scotsman)....

Its because you pay your bills to the network and then claim cashback off the retailer: two separate entities. Its not just to catch people out, there is a reason for it, but its still very disreputable.
    And well done Kimberley!

I'm afraid I'm taking a 'wholier than thou' outlook on these companies my friend....We should send them all to hades!! :) Only when they repent and make their rules more clear shall we allow them back...;)

I agree completely. Or even when they actually abide by their own rules and do what they say they will.

Well Done Kimberley!! It goes to show you don't need to be a techie or a mobile-knowitall (i don't mean to say you're not - general terms) to get a good deal for your money!! Well Done Once Again!!

John - Anyway, M2YD is owned by the phones4u group, but this doesn't seem to equate to them behaving more reputably, as other threads in this forum will show. So basically I would second your advice not to touch cashback schemes if you can avoid it, but they can be done properly and are not usually just a con.

I must say although I work for Phones4u, I seriously wouldn't touch any cashback company with a ten foot bargepole... they seriously scam as much as they can out of you... I specially wouldn't go anywhere near e2save, mobiles2yourdoor, OSPS or M2YD. The funny thing is, even if you're taking out a new contract, you may not be able to get as good a deal direct from the network but some of the networks offer amazing deals at the right time... it's a case of how urgently do you need a new phone and are you willing to wait for the right deal...

Incidentally, although all these companies are owned by like P4U and CPW, whenever you buy a cashback deal in one a P4U or CPW store (from my experience having worked for both), they always honour their cashbacks and the terms are straightforward... i don't see why they can't just apply the same terms to the companies they own!!
