How did it go? Was it as scary as you imagined? I hope you found a comfy bra that fits you nicely!

I have been into the Cambridge Bravissimo, but not had a fitting there. I hope it went well for you... :)

Well....It was worse than going to the dentist to be honest! Didn't know you had to book either, so glad we got there early'ish, by the time we went back for the fitting about 1.15 both the rest of Sat and Sunday was booked out. It was OK as the lady (older than me!) left the room when I tried them on, which was good. I did feel out of place though, as the last place you'll ever see me is a lingerie shop! (I was/am a tom-boy!). I didn't really have time to talk to the lady as she was fully booked and it was very busy.

Um, it was slightly helpful. I am a lot smaller round the back than I imagined, and a bigger cup size which I already knew, although I am still as confused as I was before!
I tried 2 on and can honestly say that yes my boobs looked better than ever but I was so uncomfortable I can't describe it. She kept tighting the straps tighter and tighter and it was terrible. I'm a loose-clothing type of person and what I tried on was so tight I couldn't wait to get it off. Hence I didn't spend any money, as I knew I wouldn't wear the one I tried. I was bulging in all sorts of places (note to self:- must tone up!).

I've re-ordered a dozen different bra's in several sizes (around 32FF) but no luck. There is one that fits better than others but it's just so tight around under the bust it's making the area red and it's just too tight, bulging and everything. That's a 32FF which was the size I tried on in the shop.
I'm at a loss as what size to try next! Do I go to a 34 to make it slightly more bearable under the bust and an F or an FF cup? Or something completely different? The one I tried that fit best (!) was an underwired. I've tried non-wired and they're either too tight and/or not big enough in the cup. The wired seem to hold better as the boobs aren't what they were after 2 kiddies, but I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Does everyone else really find one that's comfortable straight off? I knew it was tricky, but not this tricky! I am a fussy person when it comes to stuff like this but I really did try, and kept them on for a little longer than I normally would, sat down and watched tv for a few minutes to ignore it. But the tightness really got to me and the bulging!
I'm going on holiday next week and wanted to find something comfortable for that, but I think I'm going to give up. Maybe I'm a funny shape! Sorry for being a moaning minny!

    End of moan. sigh.
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

Sorry not to have mentioned you might need to book. Not all Bravissimo branches operate a booking system, so I didn't think.

Right, let's look at the positives - you got a general idea of your size. As the tightness is really bothering you, I'd do as you suggested - try a 34F and see what happens. (Try Debenhams if there's one near you - they have a good range in larger cup sizes and some of them are very reasonably priced). Also, try a few different styles and fabrics. There are a couple of styles I have bought in the past that have given me problems with the elastic round the back and sides creasing up and digging in - not comfy by the end of the day. This one for example. It looks fab, gives a good shape and isn't drastically expensive - but the elastic caused me so much skin irritation I had to stop wearing it.

Freya used to do a lovely cottony one that was really comfy, but I suspect it's been discontinued now. In any case, try really simple shapes in cotton-based fabrics.

    Good luck :)

I would also recommend going to Debenhams, get yourself fitted there as well.

I love their own range Gorgeous Bras I think. There is one which is a T-Shirt Bra in silky material with soft padding its 18.00 but I find it really comfortable to wear as I can also have similar problems to you with certain types of bras digging in under the bust. This one also gives a good shape and fits like a glove.

    Hope this helps.

I would heartily recommend local lingerie shops.

I had one open in town and bit the bullet. I'd been wearing a 46D. She took one look and came out with a 48G.

Lost a bit of weight now and have been re-assessed as a 44FF. Never felt more supported or comfortable in my life:T

My problem is that I am a 34" in the morning but by late afternoon and evening I have become bloated (all over not just my stomach) so need a 36". Whenever I have had a bra fitting it has been during the day and the fitter has insisted that I am a 34E but as soon as I get home I have to take off my bra as it is so uncomfortable and put on an old loose bra.

If I do buy a 36 the back rides up during the day but is fine in the evening. I can't win.

Does adjusting the hooks not help? I try to go out with mine on the tightest or next tightest hook, but by tea time I'm on the loosest. Or I've taken it off ...

How bizarre lolly that you grow so big from the morning to the afternoon. I take it for example, that you have to wear a size 12 in the morning to a size 14 in the afternoon aswell. What agro that must be :p

isitenough: Basically try a 34F and be done with it. If youre used to having something loose and you cant be arsed to give something a shot then go with a 34. Everyone has fat on their back, yes you will bulge, but when your tits are swinging near your belly button most poeple will look straight at that rather than a bit of bulging. A bra is going to be at its most tightest when you first try it on, it will loosen as you wash and wear it.
