A new bra - should it be immediately comfortable?

If you can get to Bluewater, there is a bra fitting shop there (Leia Lingerie) who are excellent - I'd been wearing a 36B for years - they measured me as a 32DD which fits perfectly!isitenough wrote: »Bravissimo sounds a lovely place just to visit never mind the bra fitting! Gok Wan has just this moment said that bras are stiff to beging with and loosen with time so i guess they are generaly a bit uncomfy to begin with

I know I should, and it would probably be a godsend but I have no idea where to go and am slightly to shy to do that. I've always brought bra's by trial and error, if they're comfy I get them!
I go to a little independent local shop for my bras and they don't even get a tape measure out to measure you, they just look and they know and they're right every time. It's less embarrassing that way too.
Where do you live, if you are close to me then I would highly recommend them.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
well you should always buy it so that it fastens on the loosest of the catches, then when it does stretch, you can use the next clasp along and it'll still fit.Gok Wan has just this moment said that bras are stiff to beging with and loosen with time so i guess they are generaly a bit uncomfy to begin with

first time I went in there I was wearing a 34-36 DD, came out in a 32 FF-G and am absolutely evangelical about them now

I notice you are in Essex too - Is Bluewater too far away for you? Leia Lingerie at Bluewater are really good for measuring you - it is where I go and the staff are really nice. Had a bad experience with M&S and I can't get up to London much at the moment, so Rigby and Peller is out - they are good though and can tell you what size you need without measuring. Most of the staff in Leia seem to be older rather than younger (I'm the same age as you, so I know what you mean about being measured by a skinny young girl), and they have a loyalty scheme too, so after you have spent x amount, you get a free bra of your choice. They also do properly fitting swimwear too.0 -

ah well - once in a while for a treat isn't the end of the world (although OH has practically banned me from even window shopping there!!)
My bank statement is not very happy about that either. But... I finally fet happy about my shape when I bought a shirt and a jacket for work in Bravissimo. I really hate being 32J - I can't fit in any normal clothes and all the nice dresses and tops are horrable on me. I think I am going to invest in a sewing machine and some trial and error in sewing...
Anyway - after I knew I am happy in Bravissimo clothing, I am keeping my eye on ebay. I am alos going tothe wedding in a months time, and I am going to get their evening dress (if I lose enought weight for the target, as agreed with OH), or a silk top to go with the skirt I already have. Hmmm, maybe a new bra as well!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
ginvzt - wow, 32J! DO you find that the Bravissimo clothing sizes are big enough? I'm "only" a 32G and I find sometimes a 14 Super Curvy is almost tight around the bust (and I can't go up to a 16 as then it's baggy in the shoulders...)
I think they should have another 2 sizings above "super curvy".
