Best thing i've ever had recommended to me it a Newton bar thingy!! Can't remember exact name but will check upstairs when DS1 has finally settled. Buy it from Boots for less than £3. It comes in a little clear case and looks like lava. You add soap on to it and then scrub your feet. They honestly are amazing. Believe me i've tried everything!!

Banana skin is really good for dry feet, just rub the inside of the skin onto your heels etc and instantly feel the difference !:hello: Laugh and smile everyday, it keeps you healthy ! :wave:Thanks for everybodies help on here, what a great community !0

A palm full of handcream mixed with a tablespoon of granulated sugar also works a treat on feet that have been soaked for five minutes. Just rub it all over for a few minutes and than wash off and most of the dead skin is gone.I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Hard skin can indicate podiatric problems. It's not very good if all the pressure of your body is going on to the same part of your foot repeatedly. A healthy foot shouldn't have hard skin as your gait should spread the load over all your foot.
Try getting checked out by a qualified podiatrist ( you can get this on the NHS, but might have to wait a bit), rather than a chiropodist. A chiropodist can file away the hard stuff, but can't do a thing to prevent it.0 -
I just file mine off dry with a diamond dust file themn shower & slaver on Palmers alpa beta moisturiser in the blue bottle. Leaves my feet smooth for days. I know when the dry skin gets bad as I get sore feet.
wish I lived near a beech barefoot sandwalking would be great. Im envious. I totally believe it would get feet into perfect condition
I know wahat causes my foot probems and its hobbit feet (minus the hair!) I just cant get shoes and boots to fit.0 -
Know that feeling exactly, rustyjemma!
Size 9's here with disgustingly hard skin - AND I like to go barefoot whenever I can (live in 'trekking-style sandals' most of the year round). I swear by my Body-shop foot file BUT it doesn't solve the basic problem - cos it keeps on coming back again. Think the podiatrist would probably be a good idea for me!0 -

Provided you're not too cack-handed, Boots do a "corn & callous" remover - blue handle, deathly blade (protected by a sheath) on the end - but brilliant for removing hard, dead skin. Soak the feet, first.
You need to be careful - keep the blade almost flat against the skin, but if you're successful, you feel about a stone lighter! :rotfl:Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
