hard skin on feet

I do the bath-in-a-shower thing too! Feels really nice, and I can definitely suggest Epsom salts, HM bath salts or Virgin Vie blue bath salts (not OS, but smell really amazing).
I have awful feet (so does my mum, so I blame it on genes!) and I find that pumice does nothing other than give me a tickle.
My amazing product is a funny looking terracotta thing from Body Shop. It's basically a paddle made from clay and it looks like someone stuck 1000 pencils into the wet clay to make little ridges. It gets a bit manky (you know it's working!!) but you can just wash it out and leave it to dry overnight.
I completely agree with the moisturize overnight idea, but get the rough skin off first or it won't matter what you do.
Also, I use Astral and found it works better for me than Virgin Vie foot cream (that one smells nice though), Boots rough heel cream, Aveeno (recommended by the doctor), Freederm (ditto) and some German herbal cream that's supposed to moisturize your feet and keep them from sweating. But I think everyone has different tastes.
Maybe you could do a 'treatment night' with your female friends and relatives and swap crams and products (hygenically) to see what you like? Sounds weird, but my poverty-stricken friends and I do that sometimes with hair, makeup, etc.0 -
The very best of all is organic coconut oil rubbed into your feet every night before you go to bed and if you have/have every had/get athletes foot then use this and your feet will be wonderfully soft and no signs of athletes foot - I use this and have done for 3 months and have wonderful feet for the first time ever. It is so worth it. I get mine from Akamuti online shopSaving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

i can second this.
i usually slather my feet with flexitol - stick my feet in plastic bags for a couple of hours pop on a pair of cotton socks for overnight and in the morning the feet are so soft. BTW hubby thinks i'm a passion killer with this routineGive blood - its free0 -
wet wrapping is highly effective for moisturising

wearing damp socks over moisturised feet is same basic principle.
use a strong emollient, something like Diprobase, E45, or Ung Merck.

From the diet doctors programme for athletes foot/dry skin on feet use Organic Coconut oil rubbed into feet daily to keep them moisturised and I can assure you after 3 months doing this I have lovely feet for the first time ever.
I bought my Organic coconut oil from Akamuti online as I use their Liquid castille soap for my shampoo and shower get too - they have lovely stuff.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0 -
I do the bath in the shower thing, then pumice stone, and then rub down with regular bog standard baby oil. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0

you can get a lovely botanics overnight foot cream free with any other botanics purchase (incl the 99p soap bar) at boots instore, not online, at the moment. try this with the sock method.0

I've spent a bomb on nice things meant to remove hard skin, but eventually gave up and went to chiropodist. It cost £22 for 30 mins, and I had lovely feet when I came out, which lasted for about 6 months. Would have been longer if I spent any time in trying to maintain it, but just took it for granted. Am going to book another appointment soon. She basically said that if you're feet are in a state, then there's not much point in putting lotions etc on your feet, as the hard skin has to be properly removed before they can reach the nice skin to make any difference. My feet have never recovered after I worked in a bar and spent all day on my feet!0

i use a foot file i got from body shop, best if you leave your feet out ofsocks, shoes etc for about an hour then file really well and cover in lotion then repeat evry few days and it really helps!
i was told i get hard skin cos i walk to heavy!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
