I've got to get out of this place

  • Well, haven't posted here for a while, stuck my head right back in the sand. Why do I do it??

    Today I have:
    • Opened A&L account as recommended by the man himself on this site. Have not applied for an overdraft - will pay off HSBC O/D or maybe transfer it to a 0% CC as they start charging interest on it next month.
    • Opened Tesco saving account for £20 cashback. Good interest rate too. Will put extras (ebay/amazon/cashback/b0ngo etc) in there and use it to pay off my O/D so I know what's going on.
    • Made a budget for next month.
I am going to see if I can list some items on ebay later on, internet is being temperamental.

I will be debt-free by Xmas. I will, I will.

    OK, today I have:
    • Started writing down everything I spend/take out of the bank.
    • Paid all my CC / OD bills so I know what I have left.
    • Listed 8 books on Green Metropolis.
    • Listed some vouchers on ebay.
    • Checked cashback and started a claim for some.
    Tomorrow I will:
    • List some more stuff on ebay.
    • Do some clicks.
    • Do my snack shopping for the month with a budget of £10.
    ;)

Well, still need to list some bits on ebay, but I think I've had an OK day - had a NSD at least!

Took a flask of tea and snacks to work for my break instead of spending £1.40 on tea and snack so saved that. Spent £14 on snacks last night, but that did include some stationery that I needed so that's OK.

This evening I have signed up to 2 mystery shopping companies - waiting to hear back now. Have checked for surveys (nothing :( ) and checked slice the pie (no rooms open :( ).

Don't seem to be having much luck with surveys to be honest. Had a £5 lightspeed payout last month which was cool, but that's all I've cashed in since I started doing them. Does anyone else have more luck? If there's anyone actually reading this...

Have a party tomorrow so that won't be a NSD. Just thinking of cheap things me and the bloke can do this weekend (except the obvious ;) )
I think we'll try and stay in, borrow a DVD. I may try to do him a dinner, although only have a microwave so could be interesting! Pasta and sauce will have to do! That's cheap enough too.

    Rambling now...

  • Having a bad bad month.

Yet again I find myself having no money to last til the end of the month. Absolutely none. I have about £1 in my purse.

Have just been turned down for the Virgin Credit Card so cannot get a 0% deal.

May have to borrow some cash off a friend to get by. I hate this.

  • I have just listed 12 items on ebay, mostly relists though so I bet they won't sell and I'll just have wasted the listing fee.

On a positive note, my lovely OH is paying for me to go visit him this weekend so that's OK. Was thinking I'd have to stay here on my own for my weekend off work.

Will need to wait for camera batteries to recharge then maybe do some more tonight or tomorrow.

Have got enough piggy points for a voucher so may see what I can get there. Was going to try to leave the points there for Christmas, but needs must.

  • How boring am I?

    Lonely....

Talking to myself again. Never mind, will carry on and hope it's not the first sign of madness.

Just got a letter about a 0% offer from Capital One so have transferred £1844 over from the Mint card. Excellent, that will reduce my monthly payments a little bit. Will bung all my extra money on the Mint card then start on the Capital One.

Listings on ebay have no-one bidding yet, hopefully closer to the end of the listing someone might want something.

Later on have some more stuff to put on (photos taken and waiting). Will also do some pigsback and maybe some clicking and Slice the Pie.

It's a long old process this. I'd love to be out of debt by 2009. That would be amazing. There just aren't enough hours in the day.

Aww, couldn't leave you talking to yourself :) Looks like you've made progress from your 'head in the sand' days... try to keep positive and keep it up! ;)
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012.

  • Thanks redsquirrel!

    Today I have:
    • Added up all HSBC bank charges and used the template from Martin to be posted on Monday. Better get myself in that queue!
    • Listed 4 items on ebay already - one was a relist at the request of a bidder so that one at least should go.
    • Checked internet banking.
Now I am doing a few more ebay listings and will try and play some free b0ngo in a bit. Maybe it's my lucky day! Need to try and remember where I still have credit. I knew I should have written a list.

Tomorrow I am going to re-snowball myself with all the correct interest rates. Will also update my sig as I have transferred some of my Mint card to a Capital One 0% deal.

My bloke is really annoying me financially. He owes me £450 which would really help but his wages are all wrong. He just doesn't seem interested in sorting it out.
He's owed me this money for 3 months now, and it's going up all the time. I will have to pay for all of our holiday as well. I am going to add half to his bill though ;) I love him to bits but he drives me mad.

    Put it on the line.

    Money. Now.

    End of.

I could never do that to him, he is in financial difficulties too due to his wages being mucked up. To be fair to him, the system of pay in the Army is utter rubbish.
I know I'll get it back at some point, although may have to start charging interest ;)

Have just resnowballed and should be debt-free in 8 months. Everything extra I get (surveys, ebay etc) is going onto my Natwest OD which I can't touch because my cashcard has been cancelled. It's going down slowly. If I can together £370 extra then I will have £400 extra in one month to chuck at other things.

I wish I could do the £10 a day challenge but I just don't have time. I have no chances of overtime and have ebayed everything not screwed down!

Am going home for 4 weeks next week so that'll give me a kick again as I'll be fed-up of not having my own place after a day or two!!
