All the supermarket petrol stations around Belfast at 83.9p for unleaded.0
-
The garage beside the graveyard in Omeath is €108.9 (ST£0.733) per litre.
edit: meant to say this was for unleaded!0 -
104.9 euro was the going rate when I was home at the weekend. The car was dragging along the ground from the weight of petrol (and the kids didn't like having the canisters on their laps either.)
There's a Jet station on Grand Parade (East Belfast) that always seems to match Sainsbury's prices - without the queues.Stercus accidit0 -
Hi Fiona,
The petrol stations in Muff are by far the cheapest without having to drive too far from Derry. Texaco in Muff has been at 74.9p for the past 2 weeks or so.
Petrol prices are usually about 2p per litre more expensive in Bridgend - so Muff is definitely the best place for your petrol.
Tesco at Lisnagelvin (which would be on your way back to Belfast from Derry - just before the hospital) is the cheapest in Derry at around 85.9p (I think) for unleaded with diesel at 87.9p.
Also, further to your speed camera post from the other week, I've noticed a mobile camera on quite a few occasions on the dual carriageway which takes you up the hill to Altnagelvin roundabout - so be careful!0 -
I stand corrected. Tesco Lisnagelvin has unleaded at 87.9p and diesel at 92.9p.
This website is always worth a look:

As we already have a current thread discussing petrol and diesel prices I'll add this to it0

Diesel down to 88.9 this morning (sorry didn't catch the UL price while I was passing but I'm guessing it's down 1p as well) at Tesco Knocknagoney. petrolprices.com hasn't updated yet.0

Petrol is 74.9p :j in Muff just outside Derry I've just discovered. But I was charged 3% exchange rate when paying by sterling. Next time I'll pay by euro.
In Belfast I think cheapest garage is Sainsburys:84.9p.
Lets talk cheap petrol. Any other cheap garages... I am covering 160 miles 4 days a week.

Fiona,
I would really love to know who charged you a 3% exchange rate. I'm from that area and all of the locals pay sterling for their fuel and I have never heard of anyone being charged. Indeed I would use several four letter words in my reply if told I was being charged! The exception may be for credit card transactions though - don't know as I've never used one.
My advice is still to drive through Muff and on to Quigley's Point. There's two petrol stations there that use clean diesel, give 45% for sterling and don't price fix like the stations in Muff have been known to. Personally, I use Brendan's which is a ten minute drive from Muff down a straight road beside a church and a large bay in the Foyle.Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"

Feels like time to resurrect this thread again. I've been using petrolprices.com and see the cheapest locals are still the supermarkets - sainsburys forestside and tesco yorkgate at 103.9. Has anyone checked lately if it's still worth going across the border? Or has the rise in prices levelled the costs out a bit?0
