I'll be boycotting eBay on the 1st of May...
... mainly because the ******* *******s have suspended my account for a breach of policy I haven't even committed!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Trying to sort it out has been seriously frustrating; you can't talk to anyone other than the customer service staff who do not have any decision making power; the managers of the customer service center won't talk directly to customers (!!!!!!!!!!) and neither will the suspensions team. You can't complain about the customer service center because the customer service staff won't give you the head office address... And this is for someone with five figure sales per month...
What an absolute bunch of ****s. Whatever people may not like about Google; I really, really hope that they take eBay on and give them a good *******EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0 -

The decline in page views has to be of concern to eBay - an almost 13 percent drop in page views in March from the previous year."

So how many have actually boycotted, I have watched for a couple of weeks thr threads and unhappy people moaning ...
I for one have 20 items listed in turbo lister ready to upload tonight
this is due to it being a cheap listing day. Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

I think ebay was hoping that the cheepo listing day would sway those with a lack of backbone...."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I very rarely list now on cheap listing days as the savings in cost are outweighed by lower final prices. I would have boycotted today anyway and until I find a solution to publishing my home address on a business account it is just back to clearing out the wardrobe/garage/loft and no more trading.0 -

yes they are ebay stats.. but the delcine could be down to people not spending in general.... as not only ebay sales are down which they have shown in the stats but businesses in general are down on last year...
due to maybe the credit crunch and food prices hiking up...
basically what i am trying to say is its noy only ebay having lower figures than last year... so the lower figures are not necesserily down to the ebay boycott....
sorry if i didnt make myself clear......Work to live= not live to work0 -

So I can add lack of backbone to all the other things you have said about me.
Not a case of not having backbone, was more a case of I had baby items I needed to try and sell, but they probably won't sell or will sell for very little therefore a cheap listing day means they get less of my money ... its that simple!!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

I'm sure I've only ever said nice things about you.RustyFlange wrote: »Not a case of not having backbone, was more a case of I had baby items I needed to try and sell, but they probably won't sell or will sell for very little therefore a cheap listing day means they get less of my money ... its that simple!!!

There are other auction sites out there you just need to have a look and sample a few. Have a look through the rest of this auction forum.....martinlewisfanclub wrote: »As an occasional seller and buyer, I found it fun to ebay but the charges which, when you add to actual postage, makes it hardly worthwhile selling stuff which may go for a low start price of say 99p. I've got a pile of good quality stuff to shift but the effort (photo/list/find packaging/pack/trip to queue at PO/await problems!) is really not worth it. So I've just about talked myself out of the 5p day- charity shop can expect an eclectic mix soon!
I was thinking that, with MSE subscribers' clout, all us non-power sellers could decide from today to support a different auction. Anyone have any suggestions that aren't affiliated to Ebay? Perhaps someone could start one up?!
Ebid is a great site which is growing rapidly and a large number of sellers on there have moved away from Ebay and opened shops there instead due to the Ebay changes.
It is great as you can list items for free, there is a great forum on there also with lots of help and advice to get you started. I just started selling on there last Sunday and have bids on my items already!!!
ibootsale is also another good one which although is quite a new site is also free listing at the moment. I recently joined and have had a few sales on this one too.
What is great about Ebid and ibootsale is that the "flea market" element we loved about Ebay is very much still there. You can grab all sorts of bargains.
These are just a couple I have discovered and tried myself, however there are probably other good auction sites out there that I may be unaware of that others can shed light on too.
Good luck in your quest! My mantra is "Never pay full price!"
