Okay just scan preferably or type out the offence(s) for which you were arrested which have to appear on the notice of street bail..0 -
I was arrested for fraud and deception but on the form it only says deception. Shouldn't they match? Also, when they took my coupons from my bag ( including gift vouchers that were a present) they didn't give me a receipt. Should I have had one?0

If they took your gift vouchers then they have stolen from you as these are instead of cash. You wantthem back as they had no right to take them from you.
Hope all goes well for you.:T Member 33 the "104 Free Films" Club 13 seen 91 to go:T0 -
I've exchanged a few messages off-line with the OP.
For what it's worth I'm content that this Dude is a genuine member of MSE operating under an alias for the purposes of this thread.
The story - whilst bizarre - seems to be the truth.
For one I'm sorry for doubting the OP at the start - let's throw in our support and see how this plays out.

Thank you, Duder. It is a relief to hear that people think it is bizarre. I just want it to be over, positively for me. Will let you know what happens.0

I think you should complain: the shop assistant took your coupons, so it is the store that is guilty of fraud and deception surely. If he/she took your coupons, then possibly the store has taken coupons fraudulenty before, so it's not just this instance.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

That's the way I see it too.
Offering a coupon for tender - the SA/SS accepts this - unless there is proof that the OP is a repeat/regular offender and that this is a one-off can't see the CPS persuing this.

Can't understand why people are asking Flowerclipper for more evidence that this happened....... I mean !!!!!!! Poor Flowerclipper must be going ut of mind with worry. This could happen to anyone and we should all help each other. Hope solicitor has offered more advice.0

I think it's the bizzareness of the police action that is making people wonder.
1. 2 plods and all this over a coupon.
2. A shop accepts a coupon and then calls it fraud.
3. They arrested and bailed without attending a police station
4. Mixed up IUC action
5. Shop could be wasting police time
6. Plods could possibly be done for wrongful arrest
I think that IF this is true then it should really be hitting the daily papers, and be accompanied by police and sainsburys statements. Mind you, I wonder how all those "We accept Asda/Tesco/sainsbury etc" banner adverts stand if they are now classing this as crime? Perhaps aiding and abetting?0 -
