  • I found a very interesting article on mad.co.uk entitled 'Redeeming Qualities' - can't do links - that show how devious Tesco and Sainsbury's are by turning a blind eye to misredemption. They make a huge amount of money out of it. As for the USA, I know there are different views on this but I am innocent and I haven't been convicted. Just have to wait and see. Off to the solicitor tomorrow.

I wasn't laughing at your 'misfortune', just the sheer ridiculousness of the post.
:D Make a list of important things to do today. At the top, put 'eat chocolate'. Now, you'll get at least one thing done today. :D

Get your email off to Sains asking about there coupon policy as well. Can only assume from OP that they say they accept 1 of any coupon without buying it?

BB - can you scan your email in?
  • I did email Sainsburys and they said they sent coupons to customers to encourage the customer to spend more and that they don't take coupons if you don't buy the product, but I have never been told by a supervisor or manager that they don't. Never had any trouble. In fact, I always liked how nice everyone was, especially compared with Tesco staff.

You have to apply for a Visa just for being arrested.

"Under United States visa law, people who have been arrested at anytime are required to declare the arrest when applying for a visa."

The police would never arrest you and then give the store manager the power to interview you on the police's behalf whilst you were under arrest. This would be a serious breach of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. Only the police are allowed to interview you whilst you are under caution/arrest, not witnesses!

Since you say you were given bail, this interview must have happened under strictly controlled conditions in the police station. Bail isn't granted in supermarket managers' offices! So was the manager also taken along to the police station and brought into the interview room to do the police's job for them?

Frankly I find your story impossible to believe.

By the way, it's not Sainsburys who decide whether to press charges - it's the Crown Prosecution Service.
