angelnikki - Thanks, I suppose it should be common sense to store in the fridge, we only have them usually for a couple of days so its not been a problem. Each batch I make I sneak a few for the freezer so we now have a selection of flavours. I haven't yet defrosted any though.

    Hi everyone :hello:

Had my Tesco delivery tonight. It came to a Whopping £107.09!!! We had to phone MrT for a refund though as instead of sending 4 bananas they sent 4 bunches!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: So that reduced it by £2.33 bringing the total to £104.76.

My cupboards are now at full capacity :o so the £162.24 I have left for the rest of the month is still do-able. (£54/week)

PS anyone got any good banana recipes? :rotfl: I'll probably make muffins and maybe ice cream as well if I can find some room in the freezer for it but not sure what else to do ?

Blimey it's getting difficult to keep up with the posts on this thread!

A week into this challenge and I've spent £45.74 of my £200 budget - there's quite a lot in the freezer, especially mince ;) but I need to revise my plans to make shephers pies and the like now that the weather has finally taken a trun for the better. The last time I tried to make meatballs though they fell apart - but I didn't chill them before cooking which is where I think I went wrong!

I've also planted some runner beans and chilli peppers (from free seeds) and fingers crossed - I've never attempted to grow any veg before.

Well I'd better get back to page 12 of this thread and try to catch up

Well, on Friday I stocked up at the butcher and tonight I have just had Mr T deliver so I have spent £201.42 out of my £250 budget    . Hopefully I sholud only need a few fresh bits for the rest of the month but I am sure I will be over budget again.  I think that I really must increase my budget as everything is just getting more and more expensive.

    hi galactic green,

about putting the tomatoes out, I keep reading different advice about when to do it. BBC gardening site says not till they flower. Is that what you did? One of mine died which I'm sad about but I don't think her stem was hardy enough!:o

I was worried about putting the tomatoes out too. Some plants did have flowers so I hope I am OK. The weather here is lovely that I hope the sunshine and warmer nights will help them get sturdier before it gets cold again - although I haven't got a clue really!!!
