31 pages and not even one week into May, wow! I despair of keeping up and can only keep apologising for not being 'on the GC ball' all of the time.
My May budget is almost spent already! HOWEVER, that did include a bulk stock-up of dry goods, toiletries, juice, tinned tomatoes etc, so I'm hoping it will reflect in the coming months' budgets when I don't need to buy these things.
I have skipped out of breadmaking for a while because I've just managed to get myself 6 pan loaves @ 16p, 2 plain loaves @ 26p, 4 wholemeal baguettes for 37p and 2 packs of Cobbles (rolls) at 26p per pack. Seriously Strong Cheddar was half price, so I got 2 and I needed some party fayre for DS birthday tea tomorrow. I also treated us to a set of stainless steel BBQ skewers.
That should keep me going for now, wish the veggies & tomatoes would hurry up and grow, though!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Second weekly Tesco shop arrived this morning totalling £65, only below target by the fact that they didnt have the frozen chicken. Total spend £138.93 leaving £53.69 a week left and I know I have to pick some stuff up before then. Wish me luck.:j0

Hi everyoneSame at my sons school so i bought a non-see through juice bottle and he takes juice in it, the teachers are none the wiser
The bottle is black and has his name printed on it which i bought in debenhams but i have seen cheaper ones since in the camping shops or try Mr T's.
I have the same problem, my son will not drink plain tap water, he is not allowed to take coloured juices. I did suggest the non see through bottle, but apparently at High School these are not allowed either. Who makes all these rules?, they obviously don't have a budget to watch!
I have managed to spend nothing so far since my big shop on Thurs, however, I was a little upset at tea tonight. I have been baking frequently for the last few weeks, tonight I opened a tin of raspberry muffins I had made on Thurs, to find the 6 left had gone mouldy!  I have kept cakes alright for up to a week before. I keep them in an tin, lined with kitchen roll, any ideas why they don't keep?

Off to update siggy in a mo
Got Sadies milk which was £7.96.
I also got loads of whoopsies but most of these are going to reduce the monthly shop from the CB so am I ok to take them out of that budget ???
So whoopsies bought -
24 pouches of Felix cat food £3.00
8 pints of milk - 62p
3 pots of Houmous - 33p
2 yoghurts (for yoghurt cake) 18p
Cereal 70p
Cereal 62p
3 muller yoghurts 51p
4 Quiches 48p
pot of taramasalata 21p
= £6.65
The cat food covers next month though so needs to come out ofthat budget - I won't need anymore as we have some in still. Also I am going to freeze the milk so I have less to buy there too and the cereal is enough for next month.
So do I class myself as over budget for this week or can I take the money from next month
Sorry to confuse matters

The children at my school have all kinds of coloured bottles. I don't ever check them - just glad the kids are drinking enough, especially in this weather...Surely thats the most important thing?

Sharon_1970 wrote: »Flavoured water - I know this is kind of obscure but go with it for a moment. My kids, as I expect most schools do now, are allowed a bottle with them in lessons but they are only allowed water not squash. My lot don't like plain tap water so I have been giving them flavoured water which works out quite expensive. Anyone know if there is such a thing as a non coloured squash that I could use to flavour the water please?
I Know that Asda sell one make of clear squash - comes in 2 flavours but I can't remember what it is called. It is more expensive (about £1.10 for 1l IIRC) than what I usually buy so have never bought it.
I have looked on the Asda.com site and this is not there - maybe it is a Scottish product?
Hopefully someone else knows more.
Sorry I can't be more help.

edited to add: Found it!! Called Just-a-dash and is made by a Scottish company but maybe you can get it locally(don't know where you are)

Muffins usually only last for a few days and need to be stored in the fridge. This is because of the milk content. If you want to keep them for longer than that its best to freeze them as soon as they've cooled, then take one out of the freezer a few hours before you want one. HTH
