Help please,I have made very nice tasting yogurt with UHT milk, but it is so THIN !More the consistency of single cream.
Any ideas on thickening it?Dried milk, but how?
Is it a straining jobby-thro a cloth,or what
Can eat it but will take for ever!!
Don't want to make cake as I have to do a ginger cake for a competition,so that may end up as being redone,if I make a cuckoo of the first!

this sometimes happens to mine...did you put a couple of tablespoons of dried milk in it when you made it? you could try straining it thru some muslin, but if its as runny as you say, it'll probably ALL go thru it  this has happened a few times to me, and its SO annoying0 -

Hi, found this recipe. you could substitute the individual ingredients for your dried fruit salad.
4 oz (110 g) prunes
4 oz (110 g) dried apricots
4 oz (110 g) dried figs – cut out the hard stalk ends
4 oz (110 g) large raisins
zest and juice 1 orange
15 fl oz (425ml) natural yoghurt
2 oz (50 g) chopped, toasted hazelnuts
The night before, place the four dried fruits in a deep 2½ pint (1.5 litre) bowl and cover with 1¼ pints (725 ml) cold water. Make quite sure all the fruit is immersed and leave to soak overnight.
The next day, drain off 3 fl oz (75 ml) of the water, place the fruits and the remaining water in a small pan. Cover and bring to simmering point, and leave to simmer gently for about 10 minutes or until all the fruit feels tender when tested with a skewer. Next stir in the orange zest and juice, then tip the whole lot into a shallow serving bowl to cool. Cover with clingfilm and chill.
Serve the salad spooned into dishes with the yoghurt and nuts'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0 -
Victory - well done on getting your apology - quite right too. Sorry if you already had 100 replies but with your red lentils.... I do what my family calls 'magic soup' - which is lentils as a base with stock and all the veg available - potatoes, carrots, swede, celery, peas, tin of tomatoes, parsnip etc. Or - how about a dhal soup - with cumin and coriander and top with crispy onions fried with garlic - eat with naan bread - yum!
I've had an unexpected outlay today on a new keyboard as I spilt a cup of coffee over the old one and killed it - eeeek. I was going up the wall not being able to do anything online! On the upside my new keyboard is a thing of great beauty! (Apple....)
I've made cheesy snacks and cereal bars today (the ones with chocolate) - thank you to the OPs, sorry I can't remember who! They might have been on Weezl's thread. I could easily eat all the cheesy snacks in one sitting, oh dear.
Have spent way too much already and bought too much wine on special offer with the aim of eeking it out over the month, who am I trying to kid?!0 -

Not sure how much would be a good idea to start with though. I'm thinkg £100. I need to shop for myself and my boyfriend.
