How long do the Twinks last for?? I know that it might be odd that there might still be some after a week!! But there's only me here and boyf stays a few nights a week but don't think we could eat 40 biscuits in a week!!!
Do they keep for a while in an airtight box? or can I just freeze some?
I've been lurking mostly but have been taking part in a grocery challenge! I've been aiming for £25 a week, or £100 over month of May and so far have spent £40.81(including £9.00 of delivery charges)

Don't know if it might help anyone, but I saw this on another thread and looks quite nice and is cheap too! If you have the ingredients in then wouldn't cost any extra??Official DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j

Hi guys, very proud to say its my 3rd nsd today, 14 days left , will have to keep tight to budget but stand a chance of staying on target.
Does anyone know the recipe for cornflake cake or choc fudge cake, I havent had that in ages. Made choc banana muffins this morning (a slight twist to the choc orange muffins I think) Made 12 muffins - tastes yummy
6oz flour
6oz sugar
6oz marg
3 eggs
2 mashed bananas
choc chips (well I took someones advice (sorry cant think who at present but thanks) and used some smart price choc cut into tiny pieces
put all items in a bowl apart from mashed bananas and choc chips and whisk for a couple of mins
then fold in the mashed bananas and also choc bits. put in oven at gas mark 6 (poss 200 degrees?) for about 15 mins. They come out georgous and cost pence to make.

I always get 50+ when I make them and they freeze fine - my OH even eats them straight from the freezer
Maybe you should half the recipe to start with so you know how quickly you get through them?

i've just this minute finished cooking a batch of Twinks, and as the mixture was a bit sticky ( think i was a bit generous with the golden syrup ) i had to add a bit more flour, and it ended up making 82 cookies!! :j i've put about 65 in a freezer bag and frozen them, and i'll just take out a dozen or so at a time to defrost. just gonna have a couple with a coffee
also made a choc yogurt cake, which is still cooling in the tin, and there are some garlic dough balls baking in the oven at the mo....they smell lovely and garlicky!!we'll just have one each with our spag bol tonight, and the rest are getting frozen as soon as they're cool enough

I know I said I wasn't doing the GC challenge this month due to a 2 week holiday coming up [Canada here I come:j ] but am still popping in from time to time. My very simple contribution [and apologies to all of those who have probably been doing this for ages] it's worth checking out the price of frozen mince vs fresh. The one in the healthy living range in Mr T that I usually buy is a quid cheaper for the same weight in the frozen version. I've defrosted some to make HM burgers tonight so shall see how I go.

Got paid today and was more than expected so I've decided to keep the Tesco delivery due on the weekend. I'll take £30 out of this months budget and the rest out of June as it will last quite a while (I hope at least!)
NSD yesterday and probably one today too as I don't actually need anything (that's never seemed to stop me in the past though!)
I'm going to a wedding tomorrow so lets hope the good weather in the north stays put.
My month ends on the 29th as I'll be away in Denver for a week from Friday 30th. It work so not very exciting but at least it will be a spend free week!:o
Won't be online tomorrow so have a good weekend.
