It added that of the 100 jobs to be cut, it would aim to achieve the reduction through voluntary redundancy and natural turnover.
Most EAs are commission based with criminally low basics ( certainly in the corporates in london any road) I wonder how many EAs have just left with a view to find something with a more livable wage so far anyway? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
http://www.shropshirestar.com/2008/08/21/e...t-axes-60-jobs/Shropshire estate agents Barbers has become the latest victim of the credit crunch, closing four of its offices with the loss of 60 jobs.
Staff from Barbers Estate Agents were yesterday called into an emergency meeting where they were told the administrators had been called in.
Administrators Begbies Traynor said the offices which would be closed were in Shrewsbury town centre, Newport, Stafford and Telford Town Centre.
However, the Birmingham-based administration company said those in Whitchurch, Wellington, Market Drayton and the head office at Shrewsbury Business Park would remain open.
Barbers Auction, which looks after the livestock market in Market Drayton, is a separate business and is not affected.Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -
I can't wait to see what sort of jobs these guys get next. About the only thing they're qualified for is flipping burgers0

All branches of Lowden Noall have closed in Staffordshire & Cheshire - and the website went down this week...
Oooo - that was my FIRST ever post!
:blushing:0 -
So now Halifax are closing 53 branches out of the total of 204 before the end of the year.
A clear indication that they aren't expecting an improvement in activity in the next couple of years.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

The MovingSpaces office in Vauxhall is up for rent.

Not to worry, Estate Agents are eminently well qualified to do a whole host of other jobs. Although I can't think of any them off the top of my head.0

No EAs closed in my area. Although 'The Mortgage Advisors' have closed (and also the small card shop, but I don't think they are related to the property business :rotfl:)
Actually, it's quite a result for me as I have had my eye on the mortgage shop for a while now. Time to get in there and buy it up. :T
Last recession, none of them closed.
I do not agree with people celebrating these closures. It's not just about EA's losing jobs, it's about the whole industry/economy.
Other jobs have been mentioned before, but all those builders who will go?!?!
In the past, recession has caused house crash or the other way round.
To be honest, I hope all of you who have scathed at EAs lose your jobs as well.
That's evil, but so have you been (I'm not an EA by the way)
