Bought an item on Ebay BIN on Monday - couldn't pay immediately since paypal are wanting an expanded use number which I only discovered when I attempted to pay her. Anyway Ebay allow 7 days
The Seller has sent me this email this morning -
hi there,
i sent you an invoice on Monday but am still waiting for payment, have checked messages and emails but have had no response from you. i wouldn't normally be pushy about payment if the item had been auctioned but as it was "buy it now" i did expect immediate payment, especially as the cardigan had seven watchers on it and may very well have sold for a lot more.
If she wanted more money for it why did she put it on a BIN in the first place?

I'm always paranoid abut feedback so if I sell something, I tend to be patient with buyers and allow a good couple of days before I politely ask if they have already paid etc...If I was in a hurry to sell, I think I would state that in the listing.
If I'm buying and there was a paypal prob, I'd drop the seller a note immediately. I hate when all goes dead with an ebayer either way round so communication is the key to a better transaction.
Sound like your seller wishes she hadn't done BIN!!
If I'm miffed by someone who is harrassing me or the opposite, I'd just not leave any feedback at all (only using negative for gross lies or non payers).
It's 5p listing day on Thurs so a good time to have a spring clean and the week after that should be good to grab a bargain!!0 -
cut n paste the 7day rule from ebay, and explain probs with a/c number etc. if they werent prepared to sell at the buy now price, tough!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

well i think a lot of us also know from experience that lots of watchers doesn't necessarily mean lots of bidders!! that's absolutely not your problem at all!
just email them and tell them you tried to pay, had a problem but that you still want the item and should be able to complete the purchase within a week. an apologetic tone (not an actual apology!) should smooth things over.:happyhear0 -
By Monday, do you mean yesterday or last Monday?0
-
It was yesterday.
I have emailed her and mentioned the paypal expanded use number but I didn't apologise.!
Also I have had 17 watchers on items I have been selling in the past - and not sold it at all!0 -
I had the same problem with a Buy it now, but would never have emailed after one day.
If you want an immediate payment you have to put that next to the Buy it now logo.
As above explain nicely but I am sure you still have seven days to pay, even though most people want a Buy it now payment pretty quickly. (soolin will know that better than me!)
Good luck.0 -
