redruby - sorry - it's probably the fact that they are word docs created in a really recent version of Word. Sorry about that
If you still can't get into them when I get home this evening, I'll re-save them as something nice and generic like .rtf files which should open automatically in whatever word processor you've got
TNG - I actually work near Southwark Bridge, so my journey to work isn't literally obstructed by the road closure, however my bus route from home (the 343), which normally goes up Borough High Street and turns into Tooley Street, is only going as far as Elephant and Castle until Tooley Street is reopened.
Been to the gym (another one here polishing my halo then
) but haven't managed to buy the James Martin cookbook yet, as the book fair has been postponed until Thursday  Never mind!

Nothing much to report. Written a couple of cheques to pay some bills. Still hoping to apply for a job in Tenerife. Just waiting on a friend now.
Out at the theatre this evening. So another late night - going to have a nap in a minute
Dinner is something with leftovers from Sunday's roast chicken.

Work is calming down a little, which is good. Both the cheques that Katy gave me have been returned, they haven't bounced, but the silly t**t has put my address on the front of the cheque instead of the amount in words, doh. I went to a virgin vie party last night, only because the hostess was worried that she wouldn't have enough people there, I didn't buy anything.
I best go & have a scrabble in the freezer & choose something for tea.
Have a good evening.
Hugs Hester

I need to post a book I sold on Amazon so will try to catch the post office before they close.
Managed to knit one little hat last night.:j
Made chips for family but not having any myself as trying to be "healthy".
Hugs to everyone."This site is addictive!"

Hugs to anyone who needs one.
MARTYN definitely boxers, YFronts are sooooo ageing.
Have had a very productive day here. Have paid off my Barclaycard and written to them to close the account. Just two more debts to go, one finishing in June and the other in January. Am really chuffed as I didn't pay any interest. Also paid for my road tax, studied for a few hours and booked a magician for DS birthday. Also sent a letter to Barclays, threatening them with court action now the test case has finished.
Dinner was cauliflower and brocoli cheese. Feel very productive, even did some filing. Funny weather, tipping it down one minute and sunshine the next.
Have a good evening all. OH off to work in a bit. Thanks for the suggestion about the osteopath, neck much better now, I think it must be the bed/pillow.

evening all
Well I see that you have been using your time wisely today by debating very serious issues - I would say anything but a thong martyn - I'm not sure I understand them on women let alone men:D
first day back at w*rk for three weeks - goodness the proverbial hit the fan while I was away and one of the women is off with [STRIKE]the sulks[/STRIKE] stress. she has made a complaint about our lovely boss which won't stand up. its lovely and peaceful without her as she is pretty difficult. Had my return to work interview which consisted of us trying to work out why the dr had put URTI on my sick note - we figured it out in the end as Upper Respiratory Tract Infection which i thought was a bit dramatic even though it was a proper man-flu
Got a puncture on the way to w*rk and, although I had my toolkit with me, I had no patches so poor bikey is laid up under the office stairs - I will patch him up tomorrow and kiss him better - I love my bike
R.mac - enjoy your free time - you've earned it
exoh is here finishing (I hope) dds room - she is still living out of a cardboard box as he emptied all her drawers and wardrobe into one box for some, logical only to him, reason. I could put her clothes away I suppose but I can't be **sed
anyhoo, even though it's pretty safe to waffle with martyn away, that's about the sum total of the excitement of my day
have a good rest of the evening and hugs all round (defo no sympathy PP - honest but lots of positve thoughts for you and yours)I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
