Morning all
My brakes failed on the way into work. Thank God, I had already dropped off two of the DDs, but my heart was in my throat when I was driving up a hill, pressed the brakes and had no response  I managed to get to work, and called the AA who towed me home - that in itself was quite scary - and now the car is sat on the driveway. I have no idea how much it is going to cost to fix - H is going to have a looksee when he gets home to see if it's something he can do - but obviously it's not something we could 'budget' forThe thing is, I have no idea whether we are being allowed to keep the cars or not, so I don't want to spend an absolute fortune getting it fixed up if they are then going to turn round and take it off me.

Well tomorrow I'm off to the Nationwide in my second attempt to get my child benefit back. The manager called me on Monday, apologising profusely for not calling me back on Friday as she had promised, saying that the funds were ready and all I needed was to sign a piece of paper. We shall see :rolleyes:Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Success!!! :j:j Into the branch and to the host desk, mentioned the manager was dealing with it and they went to get her. She came out straight away, off to the cashiers, and money in my hand - job done :T Of course, now it's all spent - school uniform, etc but nice to get it back!Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000
