The good thing about this whole process is that it seems to bring to the fore the capable, practical and resourseful side of people's characters. That often gets stifled in certain relationships (where we don't always make the wisest choices due to emotional involvements!) or when life throws many curved balls.
I honestly think that after BR,most people would be able to cope with almost anything else that life chucks at them.
We are put on this earth to learn-we learn through mistakes and challenges and I feel that providing we DO learn then the future can only get brighter.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -
Amen to that!!!

I am confident that it will all sort out Merry.
I became a Christian as a result of that builder-nightmare!
Best thing that ever happened to me,and I get many many demonstrations that my situation is well in hand-but I have also accepted that I have to learn from it,and the way I deal with it is part of the process I have to go through.
I have 3 beautiful kids and so much to be thankful for. I get down like anyone else, but my faith bounces me back.
We had our electricity blow on the circuit covering tv,phone, tumble drier, internet and all the sockets at floor level last weekend. My bil is an electrician but wouldn't help as he is angry that I have split from his brother-he did however predict a thousand pound bill!
My husband came over and started to help me investigate what was going on (he is not an electrician and the first to admit he is worse at DIY than me!). After several days, Iwas poorly in bed with a tummy upset and heard the 'bang' of the elctricity in my son's bedroom.(I had switched it back on earlier) We pulled back my sons chest of drawers where I thouh the noise had come from, and a gentle pull revealed a length of cable, bitten through by little teeth. We are so very lucky that no one was electrocuted, that there was no fire etc,as there was burn marks on the insulation. It only cost £15 for replacement cable and a connector box,and my nephew lent us a plug in device that has shown the rest of the system is sound.
I just know that I am being looked after, and I'm sure you are too.
If it was too easy-what would we learn from life? I have friends who are supposedly happliy married with great kids and homes, but they are bored stiff and miserable.
Right off me soap box now! I am doing the grocery challenge and have to see what I can cook for dinner from store cupboard and freezer only! My kids say they have never eaten so well!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -

We stopped paying the mortgage last month to save the money to go BR and move into rented. We had to pay a month's rent in advance, admin fees, references, etc. So far, we have spoken to Northern Rock and told them we are going for Voluntary Repossession but not heard anything back. I made a note of one of the posts which says when you hand back the keys to the mortgage company what not to agree to sign, because they might try to make us liable for the shortfall if they sell at a loss.
We move in this weekend  although not done much in the way of packing (too busy panicking) We have also had to buy a few things for the new house but are keeping a stringent track on them so we can prove to the OR that they were needed.
I will let you know how it goes with the mortgage company, and hope this helps a bit
hi Merry
back now thanks for the reply, think we're going to do the same, but we also have a large secured loan as well,so we'll be quids in....well at least for a couple of months!
we're gonna hunt around for some rented property, thatll be the hard bit,as we're looking to move from SE London to Kent(although renting is cheaper out there)
BR is not what i want to do but its the only option,CCCS agreed, and are sending me some info about it,so it looks like thats what we're going to do:o0 -
Hi Mickey, glad that helped. We made sure when we were looking that they were happy to let to undischarged bankrupts, and were lucky because the people we are renting from ask the same of all their tenants - a chunk in advance, a guarantor, etc.
I also spoke to CCCS and they were really helpful. We did our SOA (Statement of Affairs) and the fab people on here gave it the once over and let us know whether it looked alright or not.

Merry have they not called you back?
From your experience today I will now not open the co- op account before the court case, do I then have to wait for the ORs call as well before opening one?
I have no idea what the hell to do with my money from work, they are not going to pay me by cheque I am sure.
Will go off to my thread and post some questions on this as do not want to hi jack yours Merry.
Also need to look at this grocery challenge as well! must save some money somewhere!
Hope if they have called Merry it all went okay. Some Days are Diamonds Some Days are Stones,Sometimes the hard times won't leave meBSC 162:beer:Banktupt 22 Oct 2008 at 10am!0 -
I opened my Co-Op account about ten minutes after bankruptcy.
As long as you are BR when you open it the OR wil have no interest in it0
