Only thing is he`ll have to be careful what he says!!! ...you will be watching/reading!! Does MSE have a `relate` board??
Seriously I think it will help to open up conversations & then get answers to questions that you never considered before. Since joining here my outlook has changed on so many levels!! I can`t believe that I had been so naiive with credit in the past!!
Good to have your OH on board!0 -
This could be funny ... every new poster that comes on we'll be asking them if they're Merry-Gentry's other half ... they'll think we're all a bit peculiar
:D
Think we're all peculiar?!! I thought that went without saying :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

I think it was hard on him reading what I had posted but he understands that I need somewhere I can unload my stuff, and the fact that I was so open about it being there (and had said to him as well) means that we are definitely communicating better :TGet free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

There is a lot more on how the OR will decide what happens to your car (if anything) here:
Link: Cars and Bankruptcy
That info is also very handy if you are looking to put a case together for the car being "essential".
Nicked this from somewhere else, but wanted to paste it into my log so I can refer to it when I am doing my paperwork...Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Thursday 1st May
Just started completing the forms online. I feel physically sick.
* I am speaking to my boss tomorrow to find out if going bankrupt will have an effect on my job. I work in the finance department for the local council, and when I spoke to the HR department they said it depended on circumstances, so no clear answer there thenI spoke to my Union representative and she's going to find out for me where I stand if they say it does have an effect on my job.
* We are viewing a house tomorrow with a view to rental. H is going to speak to his sister to see if she would be able to be guarantor. I actually think it's seriously brave of him as I don't know if I could do that:T . None of my family are in a position to do it for us.
* Filling in the names of my children as dependents made me feel like such a crap mother. There it is in black and white, these three little people dependent on me and look what I go and do
* I need to get some estate agents round to get the house valued. The place is a mess, so it's not going to give a good impression, but the sooner we do it the better.
* Was looking at the assets, and it asks about accounts with money in them. Does that money have to stay in there once I complete this??I know that sounds really stupid, because obviously not because bills will be going out, etc but my brain is tired.
* My back is killing me - it's taking so long for the anti-inflammatories to kick in again after the S&D bug I had, so it's like a permanent burn in the base of my spine. Add to that I forgot to put in my repeat prescription for my painkillers and anti-inflams, so with the Bank Holiday on Monday it may be Wednesday before I can stock up properly. - well done Merry, well done
Ok, ups and downs
Downs
* Need to sort out repeat prescription asap
* Starting to fil in the forms has really dragged me down. I guess am not quite 100% ready to admit this is the way to go - it depends on my job, etc
* Too tired to even contemplate Estate Agents tomorrow. I am due to go away next weekend so will ask H if he can cope with it. Yes, I know I'm being a coward but I my get up and go seems to have got up and gone
Ups
* Hospital appointment for DD2 went well. No need for an operation, and fit as a fiddle. Thank you God. :A
* I have started the forms, which is a good thing. No point being paralysed looking at pieces of paper and not getting anywhere, and somehow starting it online is easier than sitting down with a pen and paper - go figure!
* H and I are talking much more, and the difference in our communication is astounding. We had heated discussion this afternoon, but even during/after that we were both being so much more open and honest.
If you got this far in my ramblings, you need a hot cup of milk with a shot of something seious in it to help you sleepGet free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

I had £150 in my account when I went BR, told the OR on the day I went BR, he said he'd release it no problem.
However you could cancel all your bill payments, withdraw the cash and pay them over the counter until you get a coop account set up? The OR will accept this as a valid use of the money.:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
Ah bless ya Waspeze, you are such a love - thank you!!
Spoke to my boss this morning, and according to her she can't think of anything in my contract that should cause a problem, although she is going to double-check with HR. She was absolutely brilliant, not judgemental at all
Off to do some more reading - was reading Wherediditallgo's diary so want to finish that!Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Just remember if you do cancel all the DD's and need to tell the companies the bills would normally be from .. you don't have to tell them why, you can just say you're in the process of changing banks and need to pay with over the counter this time.
Technically you're not lying:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -

Well it looks like I'll be doing that sooner rather than later!! Just got back from viewing the house and it would be great. The girls could stay at their school, and it's near to a nursery school for the littlest one
H is going to speak to his sister tonight, and if she says yes we're putting a deposit down tomorrow morning.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000
