Hey Angel, how you doing?? It feels like forever and then it feels like yesterday. Am feeling rather confused at the moment - relieved because we are actually just telling people who are calling that we'e going BR so no more excuses to be made, but also a bit sad? Can't explain it

Hmmm, well apart from falling down the stairs at a friend's house and twisting my ankle, not a lot happened this weekend. H and I talked some more about what we would do if the cars are taken - he works over 30 minutes away and needs his car for that, and with 2 slipped discs, a 4 year old, my job being 2 bus journeys away and two older girls that I occasionally taxi around I want to be sure that I have a vehicle

Have already decided that the car I have needs to go - it is a 1.8 petrol Volvo, which is not the most economical but was what I could afford when I sold my last car to pay my tax bill. This time, I am thinking it through a lot more carefully, and want either a petrol less than 1.6, or a diesel car. Needs to be big enough for me and the three girls, but apart from that nowt special. Have almost settled on either a Ford Focus or a Rover 25, veering towards the Focus because of ease of work on it.

H changes his mind about the cars depending on what hour it is, but I know in the end he will get something safe for dragging round the girls, and that's what counts :)

Done more work on the budget for after BR. Looks really flush at the moment because of the money for the rental, and the BR fees, but as soon as that chunk goes out we'll be looking at what we really have to survive a month on.

Question : we want to save up the car tax, car insurance, etc money because obviously these things only come up once a year. Will we be allowed a savings account?? It's not saving up for extravangancies, it's to make sure when these bills are due we have the money there?

Am feeling a bit more useful - was feeling like I was in limbo, but now there are people posting who are where I was about three weeks ago I can help them even if it's just to say hello, or look here for info. Nice to feel like I am giving something back :j

Back to work tomorrow, and don't feel like I have had much of a weekend to be honest. In two weeks time I go bankrupt - scary as heck, but I almost want to fast forward to get it over and done with. I am not the most patient of people, believe me!! :p

    Limbo no more!!

H rang letting agents cos we want to take the girls round to the house over the weekend. They thought we were moving in next Monday   !!!!!!?! We were waiting on paperwork from them, and they were expecting us to come in and pay the remainder of the deposit, etc and pick up the keys on Monday!!

So, have just paid for redirection of post for 6 months for the six of us (fortunately only three surnames), phone connection - praying throughout the credit check but it went through ok :T, H is speaking to Sky to arrange that being moved over, and I have just transferred the remainder of the admin fees, deposit, first months rent, etc - the joint account doesn't look flush anymore

My girls have decided I look tired so are kicking me off the laptop shortly to make sure I 'rest' - don't you just love half term?! - but my brain is spinning with things I need to do!! Just for example, all those direct debits we just changed over to the new account will need to move to the new house!

    Tuesday 27th May

Busy day!!! My ladies are off school, and I was under strict instructions to rest with my feet up and stop 'messing about with all that paperwork' So this afternoon they stole my laptop from me, made me a cup of coffee and took their baby sister outside to play leaving me with instructions to rest  Ahhh, ain't they sweet?! :p

Anyway, all that paperwork was sorting out the new phone line for the new house, paying the admin fees and rent, post redirection whilst H was working on TV licence, Sky and something else (my brain has died).

Just emailed H my SOA to print off (my hard drive is still with a friend for refurbishment so no printing), and then he can use it to complete his income and expenditure. I have a niggly feeling I have missed something off, or messed something up but too late now :p I know we need 3 copies of each.

When salaries go in next week we need to make sure we take out the money for BR over four days (I think there is a £300 limit per day) and at the moment we only have the PIN for H's card. Hopefully mine will turn up this week - cross fingers!

Tomorrow need to take DD2 to get some new school shoes (five weeks til the end of term and her shoes have mouths   ), then I think it's homemade burgers and more rest time! :D

Gosh MG your kids are brill!!! fancy hiring them out??

My DD moved to her own flat ( I helped with bond etc as it was what she wanted to do..at 17!!) & although I have always brought my kids up to be independant souls & look after themselves, I find myself missing her being around!!!

Still at least she is not involved in my traumas so I am comforted by that.

I read you posts & it reminds me of what I need to do re my rented property...thankyou as it keeps me going.

Angex...ps homemade food rules OK! (& is healthier & saves loads of money)
