oh_heck wrote:Lets keep it just a little bit real Sofa;) it's only got a sub-forum cause members can and have found lots and lots of bargains from argos ........................sort of a two_way street
They'd find it less easier to find the bargains if the forum wasn't there though?
Lots of shops offer bargains... can't see them all having their own forum though0 -

Argos does have a wide and varied range but who benefits most.........................mse'ers or argos
anyhow,as long as bargains are got ,do we really have to kick and scream when one doesn't materialise........................now I'm off to Ikea:rolleyes:
it would of been good if they had donated a tv but they didn't ........................not much point in making a hoo-har about it ,this time:j0 -

Well I'm not an Argos shopper (only because it tells me I own a credit card that I don't, and never would - but that's a different story) and whilst I'm led to understand that a large community of MSE'ers have made good friends through the Argos forum, I'd still reiterate that if it was my forum, I'd be tempted to close the Argos sub-forum down.
Btw, I didn't apply for a 49p telly because I wasn't here, and I doubt it would ever have been honoured anyway. But I might have tried. Nothing ventured etc ...
Now toddle off to Ikea will you?0 -
I have just skimmed Martin's post and two others, it sure was a noble gesture from Martin agreed. But as far as Argos is concerned, perhaps they didnt see the nobility, may be they thought this was just publicity seeking or even felt patronised. We can praise Martin but there is no shame on Argos-just my view
As for the rest of the threads on this TV which went on and on and on, mass hysteria over something so glaringly obvious that it was an error, and now shame on Argos:rolleyes:(!). My understanding is that almost 100% company's firms, in their own way make very great contributions towards charities, it does benefit them taxwise and also most reputed company's are patrons to some good cause and we should respect that and not advise them on who, when and why to donate to.meher0
