Ditto as mizmir said - hope things are okay today hypno, I'll pop over to pania's thread and see how she's doing - you both know about free internet access in libraries, right? I used to access mse from the library when I was staying at my mum's, it wasn't blocked or anything.

    Have a good one.

We are lucky in that we live near a wi-fi city - so if you in the city then you can have access wherever - parks, shops - the lot!!

Sadly (or not, depending on perspective), Pania & I both live outside the city so have to rely on other places nearby or drive into the city and spend extra money on coffees while the internet is accessed at Starbucks!! The libraries are full of students, (exam season!).

I do have internet at home, just a little problem of not having a laptop as it is getting a new hard drive fitted, (under warranty so should be no cost, thankfully) but for some reason we could do most things on the "old PC" but it would not let us enter a post on MSE - most bizarre.

Typing this one from work - seems everyone is having a "slow start Friday" so no - one can see me typing!!

HI Hypno, I think you're doing the right thing about giving up the course especially as you're not using the skills. Don't forget that you should get the Passport to Teaching from the first semester which if you decided to do any part-time teaching would be sufficient for most employers.

At least this would be something to fall back on and if you did the course again then you would only do the final 2 terms of the year.

You work really hard and have been superb at bringing down your debt, but don't lose sight of your health and family as you can't get the time back!

    Best wishes Ev x

    Hi Pania

I hope things are a little better for you today - stage 1, get to the DWP and sign on - they may not pay you any money (as you should be due a redundancy payment) but they will pay your NI at the least - this means you will have full pension payments later on.

Stage 2, get to the CAB - work out if they sacked you or made you redundant!

Stage 3, write to the bar stewards and ask why you were let go? confirmation of whether you have been made redundant or sacked again!

Stage 4, look at various sites such as this http://www.delni.gov.uk/index/er/er-redundancy-payments-2.htm to work out where you stand.

Stage 5, and I understand this is under way - apply for jobs!

    Stage 6, look after yourself

Cross posting this to Hypno's thread as well

Sorry Hypno, I'd got distracted by Pania's situation.

I don't think that the Karate Admin is worth while in the grand scheme of things. Have you heard yet about a lodger? If you have one for next year it will ease your position of course. You do need some time to yourself.

hi P, I got the message about the phone!! Must have fallen out of my bag! Do you want to drop it at the ski club - might be easiest/nearest/no problems parking etc? OH is there until 4.30, I will be there again from 7, so one of us can bring it home!

    Sorry!!

evab - I had not thought about the PTLLLS element of the course - thanks for that.

Hi El!! Yes, frustrating - losing my laptop is like having my right hand cut off - it is manic at work so shouldn't even be looking at MSE for a mo!!

P, thanks - glad that the apps are done, and no worries about calling the office!
